Can't believe I slept on the Grape Ape.

post #50147 of 57790

Seriously.  Such a terrible day to have left my wallet at home.  While there are still a ton of awesome choices, the decision has been made for me on the Lapis, Forest Nymph, Grape Ape and Blue Lagoon.  I'm especially interested to see how those last three make up.

Thanks guy. I just want to make sure its not itchy when wearing it. 3/8 lined is what i was looking at with soft shoulder. Although 36 is a bit snug on me, but shoulders are spot on. Its been 40's in the morning in Los Angeles lately.

@Epaulet

Are all of the choices now listed? There was some mention of lightweight fabrics at some point... are those still coming?

@FLW Yup, I've got a category for that - just ran out of time today. Look out for it tomorrow morning. Most of the fabrics have pretty good stock counts, so no rush on things.

@badsha Harris Tweed jackets are just fine when they're unlined. It's nice actually - the whole thing becomes a big more wearable in warmer weather. Although it's still a very heavy wool - they're usually the heaviest tweed jackets around.

In terms of the pants, I typically order them with a full liner due to the itch-factor. It's a coarse fabric to have against your legs. The extra cost of the full liner is the reason why the Harris Tweed pants are more expensive then the other ones.

@Roguls that is going to be INCREDIBLE! Double Breasted!

For Sunday, we're actually just open in Brooklyn - the Lower East Side store is closed. But I can bring some jackets for you to try on in the BK store, just let me know.

@Todd V haha, yeah, we threw a lot out there today. I'll be available any time tomorrow for questions, and I can provide close up images of nearly any fabric.

Went with the Glaswegian -- the first to catch my eye and one that looks to be pretty versatile.  Having it made up somewhat casually, with patch pockets, 3-roll-2, and side vents.  Still need to nail down the sizing specifics, and I'm still wondering if matching pants would be too much or not, but I'm leaning toward the former.

It was hard to resist the Steel and Sky full suit option, though; that would be amazing.

Tried to go to a showroom to see if they had the loro piana fabric luxe sporting check, they had a similar pattern but not the color. Is it close to this?

Glaswegian is probably my favourite also (or the nymph).  Glaswegian would also make a killer odd trouser.  So if you aren't sure about about it together, as odd jacket/trousers they just may rule the world.

So, um, @Epaulet, if you happen to stumble on any more Garands laying around in a size 34 or 35, could you kindly let me know? I didn't discover my love for them until it was too late... Thanks!
