Just got off the phone with my Glaswegian employee. Not sure if it's coloring my perception but I want it in a full suit.

@Epaulet

Mike when I was in the LES store this weekend on Orchard Street, I tried on your 40R Southwick trial jacket -- that is natural/soft shoulder, correct?

BTW I missed you! I was hoping to stop by Brooklyn but I couldn't make it sadly!

Hey Epaulet staff. Thanks for the EFF program. What colors are in the teflon tweed? It looks like a grey/brown with light blue flecks. True? Are there any brown tones in this fabric? Also, are there any brown tones in steel/sky?

I think this is a fantastic pattern for a jacket. Very classic "English country" vibe to it. I would style it in a more traditional way with a welt breast pocket, flapped hip pockets, and maybe even a single rear vent, but that is just me.

If I didn't have 3-4 green jackets already that would be one of my top picks.

@Notreknip - we're actually going to increase the lapel width by 0.5" from where it was before. We've been thinking to do it for a while and now they can. So it will be a bit larger than in the past, but not so much that it's a huge difference for anyone who owns a previously made jacket. I'll have the exact measurement tomorrow.

This is fantastic news; so stoked to hear this. Was wondering if/when this was ever going to happen. It's probably a little overdue, but perfect timing for today at least!

Ah I see, thanks. I'm going to need your help with size and mockup. I'm not much of a suit guy. We can chat in the next few days when you're not busy though.

Can someone school me on 3-roll-2 vs 2 button, structured vs unstructured shoulder, single vs double vent, the different pockets, etc?

How would you guys spec a suit in the Barberis Lapis flannel? Also hoping to wear the jacket separately too. I'm tall and skinny if that matters.

I am wondering the same thing too in regards to that flannel.

So much win going on in the EFF!

Somebody buy the shoes in my signature so I can justify a baby camel hair jacket and the mustard cashmere! mwink[1].gif

Was thinking of that baby camel hair also. Probably super warm though right? Never really handled camel hair jacket before

What environment will you be wearing the suit in? Will you be the only suit in the room?

If this is for business, weddings, etc. I would go with 2 button, structured shoulder, double vent, and inset flap pockets. These are all probably the most "formal" options.

If this is for more casual environments your options open up considerably. Here are 1-2 thoughts:

The unstructured shoulder is nice IF you have broad(ish) or square shoulders. You need something to fill them out. If you have sloping shoulders it may look a bit off.

Open patch pockets are the most casual option out there. They are very popular ATM, but they are definitely on the relaxed end of the spectrum.

The buttoning situation is largely personal preference. Two button is technically a bit more formal, but I would be amazed if anyone outside the SF community would really notice that much.

2 button

single breast

dual vents

patch pockets hip (no flap)

welt chest pocket

brown horn button

This will allow more use of the jacket as a "blazer" with the casual details.  And the fabric with the speckled fleck deserves to be versatile and look great with all types of trousers/jeans.

Shoulder kind of depends on your actual shoulders.  I'm inclined to say unstructured but if your shoulders are bony or small in stature, you may want the natural shoulder for a bit of definition.  Leave that up to EP.  Can't go wrong with a natural shoulder usually...

If it were me, I'd go one of two ways - a jacket with unstructured shoulders, 3/roll 2, and open patch pockets, or as a 2-button suit with inset hip pockets, and a ticket pocket. Either way, I'd go partially lined.

I've got an old camel hair jacket (I need to get home and see how well it fits before I bother with a newer one) and it's incredibly warm, especially for the weight. I never even like to wear it to the office because it's just so hot if I am just sitting in it all day. However, if I am standing and walking around it's a great jacket - perfect for when we go to museums or somewhere like that in the winter that I don't want to deal with coat check and don't want to walk completely coat-less from the car to the building
