Who's getting in on the Luigi Bianchi Manova stuff?

At the moment, I'm deciding between:

  • Farmers check jacket
  • Donegal jacket
  • Flannel or other warm suit for the office

There is NO room in the budget for more than one... but am I really going to want to wear a natural-shouldered suit in a corporate office? If I can't wear a suit to work, it won't get worn. Period!

Thanks for any advice....

@Todd V I'd vote for Farmer's Check if you don't already have something like that. The fabric is absolutely gorgeous, and it works brilliantly with the Vittorio shape. It's an awesome coat for casual and biz-caz use. It's something that the Italians do particularly well, and the 10% off price, with wool-cash fabric, in the Vittorio make is a really solid deal. You'll get a ton of wear out of it.

Thanks, Mike. Sound advice.

Now...is anyone going to do flapped pockets? I dunno why, but on a heavy patterned jacket, I just like it better.

The problem with speckled chambray is that it goes with most anything and I want to wear it every other day..

Rivets, new cut

I was also wondering if anyone had any examples of a completely soft jacket with flapped pockets and/or matching pants. The Vittorio is undoubtedly one of the best sports coats I've ever seen, but I'm having a hard time imagining how it would look with anything other than patch pockets and odd trousers.

mike et al — gobsmacked by the LBM selection.  heart bleeds ariston oxblood, or the colombo camel, but alas need to shore up my suiting kit (from zero right now) and am all about the LBM unstructured and unlined fit — otherwise i'd just go for that 4 season boilerplate SW hopsack offering.

looking at the LW loro piana navy hopsack.  only makeup that would contend would be a blue cotton — would that be in the works w. the fabled EPLA inbounds?  thanks!

@sartoria vacua we'll certainly do a navy duck canvas EPLA sportcoat, but that's going to be an entirely different vibe than the Vittorio.

If I could suggest just one fabric, it would be Roman Blue LP Hopsack from this item:

It's phenomenal. We used that fabric for the very first Vittorio jacket from Spring 2013. I still have one of the original production pieces and I wear it once or twice every week. Lightweight, comfortable, and goes with everything. You can match it to a nearly infinite amount of trousers. It's blue enough to be interesting and not a typical navy, but as conservative as you would ever need it to be. And it's a stock fabric, so you can always buy a matching pant for it down the road if you like.

if anyone's interested in the oxblood GATs MTO size 12 at cost, send me a PM.  i'll give it a day or two lead here before xposting where i'm supposed to.  apologies if crossing streams here after all — rookie mistake.

fantastic (as always, apprehending them in person more mindblowing than the site pics), but the color run not to my taste against the HH and mocha also received.

was too quick on the trigger finger back in may and didn't see the great wave of saddle coming.

@sartoria vacua sure thing, that's no problem at all to post it here. If anyone out there has any pre-ordered trainers that they want to sell, please feel free to make a single post here mentioning it. Plenty of guys looking for them. The Oxblood Sport Trainers are beautiful, and we didn't get any stock over the preorder units:

If anyone takes a 12 then definitely drop this dude a line!

I would be interested in a size 8.5 if anyone had a pair they didn't want. I missed out on this round.

To those who asked about the EP Schott peacoat fit. I have the Schott overcoat en route so can post too when it arrives.

Just note this is a fall weather coat for those in the colder areas. It's not heavy like Sterlingwear as an example, which I wear with layers in the winter.
