Very nice although I was going to write that it's warming up again (81 tomorrow!) in LA.  Back to cotton for me - Doyle and NE Cream/Pink.

I also wore my Ironwood Donegals yesterday. Some serious SF/EP mind meld. Was wearing four pieces of tweed: Ironwood donegal Walts + Harris Tweed SC + navy Vanda donegal tie + ToJ tweed topcoat. (Sorry, no pics -- hectic work day!)

On the denim discussion, I'd actually really like to know if suede shampoo would get denim bleed out of snuff suede, in case that ever befalls me. My EP x Carmina snuff suede chukkas need to do double duty as dress shoes and I'd rather keep them denim-bleed-free.

If it matters I always treat my suede with suede protector, but I can't imagine that would keep denim bleed off (?). What sayeth the group?

Some really good take aways & reads for anyone that hasn't tuned in yet

- EFF Trousers (flannel/tweed) next week...!?  Too bad i'll be on vacation...

- cotton EPLA suiting in the Spring

- chance of working again with Carmina in the future

- dem sideburns!

It was also fun to read about EP's history and Mike's background.  Makes sense on why he always pushes the limits with his business.  Much respect!

My salt and pepper Donegal tweed Southwick MTO arrived today, just a week after the other tweed did. So both of these suits arrived within a month of when the original order was placed. I'm very pleased with the wicked fast turnaround! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Now I've got two suits at the tailor and cannot wait for him to get them back to me, especially now that the weather seems to have gotten consistently cooler here.

Reading the AMA I see Epaulet snow globes should be out in time for the holidays. You will be able to MTO with a tiny pair of your favorite Donegals, Individualized or New England fabric shirt, or cordovan footwear inside.

Tee hee.

That was a really good AMA.

I agree -- the turnaround time was really quick. I should be picking up my salt and pepper form the tailor next week. Can't wait for some cold weather!

Mike, you may have missed this, still interested if you don't mind answering.

@JR Magat @FrankCowperwood @budapest12 @Darkside

Thanks guys, it was fun to do today! Lots of great questions on there. I haven't done an AMA since 2013, and it was really long overdue. Goodyear Welt has a really solid community. @EP Sam is going to manage a lot of our communications there, but we'll try to regularly post up new content and developments as it comes up.

And yes, the take-aways are real....

1) We're planning the next EFF Trouser round on Thursday of next week. The factory is pretty open and they're down to do it. We got a little burned with a very long lead time with the last round, so I'm going to tie them down to a pretty definitive deadline. I'll confirm, but I think that we can stand behind a 1/15 ship date for all the orders next week. And there's a LOT of stuff.

2) EPLA Suiting is gonna happen. Definitely.

3) Had a very nice conversation with Carmina at the trunk show. Nothing firm yet, but we're tossing around some ideas. I'll of course keep everyone posted.

4) Snow Globes were really and truly the first product that I handled as a corporate buyer. I also spearheaded some exclusives for Saks Fifth Avenue that included: a matching Burberry plaid shirt and tie (just like Regis on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire), Dolce and Gabbana distressed jeans that said "Dolce and Gabbana" in crystals across the ass and a full 3M reflective parka from Neil Barrett.

What can I say, being a good buyer is about knowing what your customers want. And Saks.com customers wanted some loud-ass, crazy s***.

5) Amazing to see how many up-votes that the sideburns question got. Now I have to keep them. It's clearly a crucial bit of differentiation for me!

@Michigan Planner - that's great news, and I'll pass this along to Southwick! Their turnaround times got destroyed by that long moving process, but they've been humming along well recently. They'll be really happy to hear that.

@scrolls  they'd be a bit more than that as it's cheaper to buy the pant as part of a suit than on it's own. Figure that you'd have to add about $50 to the price. As much as I'd love to sell them to you, wait for the EFF if you're just interested in a trouser. It's going to be radically cheaper and we should have a really wide selection of fabrics.
