Not an awesome photo, but should illustrate the point:

I think Mike can explain but I believe this approach allowed for 2" of seat/waist altering. The new style Rivets don't have that.

Almost looks pornopgraphic

This is standard seat construction. The only time I had a little trouble was because I gained weight and the pair was made of particularly light weight fabric. Was easily let out in the seat by my tailor. Never had a failure of the stitching.

FWIW, my Rivets have all had stitching like that down the butt-seam. Has never broken, nor has it ever been an issue "seeing through it."

Along that same logic, you can see light through the fabric itself. Obviously defective fabric now.

All fair points, thanks everyone. It's a bit disheartening that multiple consignment shop owners told me they won't accept these pants because they look "low quality." Anyways, they are a size 32. If anyone wants these for dirt cheap ($25+shipping), PM me.

All my rivets are made of 59,000 oz cotton. Can't see through them.

Is Osh Kosh B'Gosh an SF affiliate? I have some frayed Fire Engine jammys circa 1981 that have not only been losing value for years (still outperformed NASDAQ index though) but are super itchy and spontaneously catch fire even on barely warm days. I knew they were subpar even when I was 6 but Mom never listened. I'd like to make this publicly known.

Just looks like thin fabric. Honestly, it might just be the color...(no offense to those who have similar items - it just doesn't look like something that would fly off the shelves elsewhere.)

Man folks are ornery today. Maybe he didn't pose the question very elegantly but not sure he deserves being egged from all quarters...ducking now.

Just don't hold your pants that way.

I'm a little curious. Why are there large gaps in the seam?
