^ Rudy orders usually consist of any fabrics that are already available in the Walt fit, provided they have enough fabric leftover. Mike just said most of the newer stuff should be available in the Rudy. So in the fall, you basically have to wait and see what they roll out with for Walts, and then hope there's still some stock left to cut some Rudys. And as always, their fabric selection will fit each season perfectly.

And I'm ridiculously pumped for the return of the Smith jean. Quick question, would you recommend getting the same size in that as your normal Rivet size, or size down to account for stretch?

And for this Fall, I'm going to try and get our first Walt delivery on the early side (around late August), so that we can turn around the Rudy orders quickly and deliver them in September. They'll surely be another Factory Finds round between now and then too, where Rudy's will be available to order.

We're going to test the jeans extensively for fit recommendations. I combed through a few different types of Cone Selvedge and found one that doesn't shrink after a wash. It barely stretched in the waist after two days as well. It's tough to say what the long-term sizing will be, but that minimal variance is a great sign. I spec'd the selvedge pieces to be a touch smaller in the waist to have some shrinkage allowance built in. My goal is for customers to order the same size in selvedge as they do in regular rivets and end up with pretty much the same ultimate fit, but we'll test a pair for a full week of wear and several washes when they arrive, so we'll be able to give you a very accurate idea.

So you won't be happy until you drain every god damn last dollar from my meagre earnings, huh. What colours will the washed canvas jean come in?

Haha, that's how we do! The first round is coming in gunmetal and caramel. They're going to be boss!

Will any of the fabrics from the last round of FF Walts make another appearance in the next round?

Yes, I imagine so. Anything that we still have inventory on will pop up again.

Hi there,

Just wondering when the Alden tanker natural CXL coming back on sell again?

I've got it on order for the Fall, but no real way to estimate when it comes in. Whenever it does, we'll be sure to post it here first.

does epaulet stock xs ocbds?

I am assuming there's no way to try on the size in store before ordering?

Considering there are no XS left on the site, i doubt they would have any in store.

Tbh, I'm not a fan of them discontinuing XS and sz 28s since I'm on the smaller side but i understand why they do it. But if they can just have like 2 units of XS or 28s with each order I'm sure those will sell

My apologies guys, all size 28's and XS's are by special order only. For the shirts, you can match up the measurements to a shirt that you already own to get a close idea of how it fits. We can also do sportcoats down to size 34, and lengths down to Xtra Short.

Is there an extra charge for this?

Also can you describe the rudy ordering process for me? This confused me a little.

Sure thing, here's the breakdown:

Shirts
XS and XXL orders are the same price. Drop us an email to contact[at]epauletnewyork.com to order one. They take about 3-6 weeks for delivery and are final sale

Sportcoats

Our selection of sportcoats for special order are all here. Upon request, we can also cut sportcoats out of Walt trouser fabrics provided that we have more cloth available.

Rivet Chinos
At the moment, the only special orders that we do for Rivet Chinos are smaller than size 30 or larger than size 36. We can also do 40" inseams by request. Like the shirts, send us an email to order one, there's no upcharge, and it's 3-6 weeks, final sale.

Trousers
Walts in size 28 or larger than 36 can be ordered anytime via email. These are built into our monthly Walt cuttings. No extra charge, final sale, get them in about 4-6 weeks. Walts can also be ordered in stock sizes with extended 38" unfinished inseams.

For Rudy trousers, about once every six weeks, we'll build out a bunch of available fabrics on our website. We then keep the orders open for a week and submit it all as a bundle to the factory. In order to cut a specific shape (like the Rudy) we generally need to make about 50 units at a time, so that's why the Rudy is the only special order style that's done in this "round-up" way.

Oh yes, we've got the following on deck for Rivets...

5-Pocket Washed Canvas Rivet Jean
Cone Mills Selvedge Denim Rivet Chino
5-Pocket Selvedge Denim Rivet Jean (a.k.a. the return of the late, great Smith jean, but now with 100% consistent sizing to the Rivet Chino, in a cone mills selvedge that doesn't shrink and doesn't stretch too much)
Rivet Chino in solid ripstop cloth (olive drab, brown, and grey)

any plans to restock sizes on the existing rivet chinos? i was looking at the brushed graphite ones. thanks!

Yes and no - we do a monthly restock, but I don't believe that we've got brushed graphite coming in. It's a thicker cloth, so we'll bring more of those out towards the end of the summer.

But in the grey world, we'll have a solid grey ripstop which will be perfect for hot-ass days.

I never really look at the Walts because when I guested started looking at EP I was told the Rivets were the slimmer pants. However, when I just looked at the measurements posted on the site it appears the Walts have the slimmer thigh and knee. Now I am very confused...could someone help clear this up for me.

Mike thanks for the response in the denim questions. Sounds like the same size as my Rivets should work perfectly. One last question, is there any chance of getting a longer inseam option for taller dudes like me? And what will the standard inseam length be?

They rivets are slimmer, in the top block. They're with a lower rise and fit like a casual chino, or a jean. They are by no means "skinny pants", but a conservatively slim chino. A lot of guys even taper the leg opening. The Walt has a higher rise and is a dress pant. Can they be worn casually, of course, but they are really an American made dress trouser in a modern cut...most American brands tend to cut huge, for, well, Americans. In my mind its one of the reasons slimmer guys have been forced to look to Europe for a decently cut pant...now we have EP, so its all good.

Bottom line, they're two different animals.

Rob's explanation is good. I've found recently that sizing down one in Walts is more comparable to your size in the Rivet.

Going to try out Rudys on my next order and am going to go with one size from Rivet like I do with Walts and see how it works out.

On an unrelated note....had a great customer experience with Dylan on today's order. The Epaulet crew are truly standup people time and time again.

I've got a few recent fit pics:

1000

1000

This is me in the Wyatt Moto jacket, size Large. It's shot with a Polaroid SLR680 and Impossible Project PX film. Not sure if that brown splotch on the top is from the film or the camera (I suspect the film), but I love the colors on these.

1000

And here I am wearing the forest green Luchino polo in size Medium (you've got to size down one on those), sitting in front of the enormous portions served at Brooklyn's Bamonte's Italian restaurant. I polished off that ravioli that night in record time. A few more meals like that and I'll be sizing up on polos before I know it.

These don't really do them justice but here's a couple pics. Love these pants! I think they look similar to the new Nori actually.
I was hoping to get some fit pics up as I know I want to get them taken in and would like a second opinion. These are 30s but 28s fit me better in Walts, if not a bit too tight.

^^ Thanks. They are the same as mine. They are more green than Taupe and I was thinking the same thing - Looks like the Nori. Wanted to make sure and was wondering if I got the Nori by mistake . I agree, great looking fabric ^^
