I need a new navy SC. I get warm very easily and don't want anything too heavy. Should I go for the greycast over the mohair? Is the mohair notably warmer than the greycast?

Also, I have the camel hair SC (Weller) and it fits better than the houndstooth SC I also have (also Weller). Any thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a 40R off the rack, and none of my jackets have a shoulder width anywhere close to 17.5". It seems like 42R is my best bet.

yes. agreed. my BB Fitz in a 38S has a 17.5" shoulder. the measurements are just a tad disproportionate.

^ I'm a 40R off the rack, as well. I have two Epaulet jackets (and just ordered two more), and they fit great in the shoulders. I agree that my other 40R jackets generally have a shoulder measurement about an inch or so wider, but the Epaulet jackets fit. Here's a picture of me in one of them (not the best photo for judging shoulder fit, but it should give you some idea. Also, it was uploaded using the mobile site, so click for a larger version.):

Thanks for an alternative view. I'm on the slim side of 40R (wear a 38R in several makes/models) so the Epaulet 40R might work. Do you think a 41R would fit you better than the 40R?

^Speaking of the rivet chinos, I have what's probably a super noob question...I have a pair of rivets size 36 and I think they might pull at the waist a bit because when I put them on, the fly pulls and the buttons are exposed a bit, like maybe half an inch of pull. But they don't feel too tight at the waist. Is correcting this just a matter of taking it to a tailor and letting the waist out a bit (or losing weight)? I've tried other rivet chinos on before and I have the same problem.

I thought about it before ordering factory finds, although more for the chest fit than the shoulders (I sometimes think I'm getting a bit of lapel bowing). I put on both of my existing jackets last night and the fit in the shoulders is right on. I don't have huge shoulders or back, but I work out pretty regularly, so I wouldn't characterize myself as slim in that area either.

For what its worth: I too am a 40R in standard sizing (BB, etc.). When I first saw the measurements posted for the Epaulet SCs I thought they must be a bit slim, so I sized up to a 42R. But this was a mistake. I now have a number of other Epaulet SCs in 40R that fit very well. Specific measurements can be made in different ways, so they might not be the best to go off. I find that I do well to just order my true size.

I am a true athletic fit (have always been on the "bigger size" as a weightlifter), and I fit my regular size in Epaulet in their jackets (tried on in store...still haven't purchased :embar:) Most should not size up, imo.

Roguls: If that is whiskey it looks great with the AF flannel.

Anyone else repeatedly looking at the cranberry windowpane SC?
