i'll be getting back from Peru 2 days before that with the gf, and we're currently on track for the Black Star show that night in LA so this sounds doable if I/we're not beat

Any ETA when the Weller Super 120s navy sports coat will be back in stock? Looking for a size 40 (or...if anyone has one they want to part with...let me know!)

Did this thread just reach 1,000 pages? Nice.

Yowza! I received my first round of trousers close to two weeks ago...have you checked in with anyone from the shop yet?

I think Mike already answered, but I'm a Rudy guy so mine are still en route. Spoke to Adele last week and they should be coming in shortly :nodding:

Okay, with no exaggeration, the Grape Flannel is the greatest flannel tone that I've ever seen. It's freaking amazing. Wear those with a navy blazer and saddle shell boots and you will be knocking people **** over arse.

OK, I wasn't that excited for these, and now I can't wait. These will be available for special order in Rudy, right?

Oh, and yes, we'll absolutely have cords in the next round of Factory Finds.

:slayer: Is there going to be a mega Factory finds next month? Like a Walt/Rudy/Rivet Super Sale? Fingers crossed for a chocolate brown cord...

Mike, in regards to grape flannel and purple shetland...which one is more purple (if that makes any sense)? I'm excited!

I have no actual proof behind this, but based on the Grape flannel from last year, this season's version might be a grey trouser with a purple-ish hue, while the shetland will have a more overall purple color?

And I don't comment on your fit pics enough, but they are consistently awesome. There hasn't been as many pics as usual here lately.....but it's nice to see that almost every day there is something quality from you :bigstar:

Mike's epic reply posts are a thread highlight. For real.

haha, I knew I wasn't the only one who got excited when I see a mega-reply from Mike in this thread

Haha, thanks, man. It seems I get critiqued on both spectrum. People either like it, or think I dress like an old man. Now I'm pondering how/where to take pictures when the fall/winter season arrives since it won't be as sunny outside.

Can't wait to see the new trouseres. I just want me some purple pants. :embar:

Damn, sounds like I need some purple pants in addition to the Bedford cords I'm anxious to see.

Gotcha. When you say that the Inca is snug in 9UK, is that more in the width & height, or is it snug in the length too?
If it's tight all around, then I'd suggest a 9.5UK, as the Forest has a fairly similar fit to the Robert. But if you feel like the Robert is a bit long and the length of the Inca 9UK is comfortable, then I'd recommend a 9UK Wide in the Forest. It's just a single width option there.

Thanks Mike for the reply!

I think the Inca 9UK length is ok so I may go with the Forest 9UK Wide.

Yup, the next trouser preorder date will be around 9/20 or so. Right before we go to LA. You can expect:

1. A bunch of factory finds, including quite a few corduroys and some special wool pieces. Fabrics like Air Force Flannel will pop back up too.
2. Rudy preorders for nearly all of our Fall fabrics. That includes the three shetlands, all of the Fall goods coming in about a week, and all of our Regiment Twill colors.

And on the Grape Flannel vs Purple Shetland:
Grape Flannel is a pretty solid color, just like Navy flannel was a pretty straight up Navy.
Purple Shetland has a strong weave running through it which gives it some texture and color variance when you see it up close. If you look at the detailed shots of the Navy Shetland, it will give you an idea. Purple Shetland's heathered effect is a bit more pronounced due to the lighter color tone.

Mike's epic reply posts are a thread highlight. For real.
Re: upcoming Alden styles. Will any be on the Leydon last? That one works killer for me, and outside of the LWB and Flex Welt chukka, I don't see it many oher make ups? Boot perhaps...?

Haha, I try, I try. It's really fun doing those huge replies.

And yes, if I'm not mistaken, we did a scotch grain captoe boot on the Leydon for Fall. I agree, Leydon is one of my favorites, and it hits a nice balance of comfort and a slightly sleeker look.

Man, I wish I lived in NYC! Sounds like a blast!  How about "special deals"  for all of us who will be at the trunk show in spirit haha!

I just visited NYC for the first time and reveled in my gluttony for five days.  Although we didn't go anywhere crazy, momofuko samm, noodle bar and milk bar were great (granted probably nothing special for a denizen); as were Maison Premiere all you can eat oysters, A-Wah for chinese and some awesome chinese bakery where nothing was in English (scoured the interwebs to find that one)... Choosing a restaurant in NYC is like choosing those damn special order trousers... you can't go wrong, but you want to make the best choice because you can't choose them all (or at least I can not)!

I thankfully was not able to stop by Epaulet, as the GF probably would shoot me if she knew how much I spend per pair of trousers... She is more of a gap/old navy girl :(

And I guess I will be waiting for some balmorals for a while...  Can you elaborate on any of the other boots that are on the way as far as ETA and material/color, or are you keeping it under wraps for now?  I need to decide if I will go with one of those, or these blue steinbecks.

Ah great - sounds like you had a hell of a restaurant adventure over here. Glad that you enjoyed your trip!

For boots, we've got a lot en route. There's wingtip boots from Carmina & Alden, Captoe boots, the secret Wolverine shell cordovan 2012 boot (I can't reveal any details, but seek ye on google and ye shall find), and of course all of the special order Balmoral and Jodphur boots that we did with the guys on our Styleforum thread. And those three variants of the Steinbeck/Sinclair.

Oh, also, we have a new Horsehide item coming out this year with Thorogood. It's a four-eyelet plain toe work oxford in that same dark brown horsehide that we used for the 685 boot. Really great item and will have a great price. Vibram sole, light edge, goodyear welt. It's really handsome.

This also means that the 685 Horsehide boot is closed for production, at least for the time being. We've got some good stock left, but I actually sold a surprising amount of them this week. If anyone out there is considering this item and you're on the fence, you might want to pick it up sooner than later.

Haha, thanks, man. It seems I get critiqued on both spectrum. People either like it, or think I dress like an old man. Now I'm pondering how/where to take pictures when the fall/winter season arrives since it won't be as sunny outside.

Seriously, you're an inspiration to all of us at Epaulet too. I just had a staff meeting the other day, and we're going to step up our in-house fit pic shooting as well for Fall. I think that you do a phenomenal job.

When you've got overcast settings, putting yourself in the shadow and using a fill flash can give you a very cool result. And if you ever consider picking up a digital SLR, you can really punch out your portraits by taking advantage of the shallow depth of field. Getting the entry level Canon SLR and the fairly inexpensive 50/1.8 lens will give you the ability to shoot the same style of pics that you see on our site. And with that, you don't have to be as concerned with the background, as you can blur it out.

Did a little customization to my Carmina Caramel Calf Salinger. Pretty stoked on how they came out. (photo courtesy of Jake)

Looks awesome. What did you put on them?

I used a coat of Saphir Renovateur, a coat of Saphir Mid-Brown cream polish, a coat of this leather dye/edge dressing I had sitting around and another coat of the cream polish on top. Pretty stoked on how they came out.

They do look great. This and, if I recall, the resole really make them yours. Enjoy wearing them.

Those Carminas are sharp. Looking good overall NYR. Best of luck at the start of the new year.
