Epaulet shop - Official Affiliate thread - Page 1910

Hi all,

I'm looking to make my first Epaulet purchase - Rivet Chinos (this thread has more than convinced me of the quality of the product).

However, as an international customer (Australia) I'm not too keen on making a sizing mistake.

What is the best way of ensuring correct sizing? Will measuring an existing pair of chinos and matching them up to the measurements on the Epaulet product page be a relatively safe bet?

^ Yes, that's the best bet. Also above each product's sizing table is a "Measurements" section that details how exactly they measure each dimension.

Mike - Are you still planning to take a few more photos of the new FF chinos so we can see the various colors under different lighting conditions?  For those of use who can't just stop by the shop...  :D  Thanks man.

What do you think is more versatile - the Galey and Lord navy twill or the "standard" 8 oz canvas navy chino? I'm primarily looking for a pant to wear on casual Fridays and maybe some weekend days from now through fall. Something that could go well with sportscoats (including the windowpane Luigi I just bought) but also more casual outfits...

I own the standard 8 oz. Rivet in navy and love them. That being said I think they are slightly brighter blue than the G&L navy looks. I am inclined to say the G&L would be slightly more business casual; however, I have not seen the G&L in person.

Another option is the Walt in navy duck canvas. I have Walt wool pants and love the fit. That seems like a happy medium...

Any off-white cotton fabrics for Walt coming soon?

yea, would be nice

I already ordered 3 based on the picture from the last page. They look quite a bit different than the swatches, at least to me.

Yup, I'll absolutely bring that color over to Walt/Rudy/Driggs land.

Also glad to see that Mike's endless working nights are now commemorated in this "midnight oil" color nod%5B1%5D.gif

Haha, and yes the medium FF shirts should be coming along soon

Thank you sir! The best way to determine your sizing is to measure out a pair of chinos that you have now and seeing how the sizing matches up. We'll be happy to give you personal sizing advice as well. Emailing us an image of yourself can definitely help too.

Yes, I absolutely will - sorry for dropping the ball on that. We've still got good stock on all of the colors, so I'll hook that up on Tuesday.

Thanks for picking up the Luigi jacket! Enjoy it. That thing is so boss.

I'd say that both fabrics will do that job nicely. It's really up to your preference. The 8oz Canvas has been our workhorse fabric for a few years. It ages nicely and plenty of guys wear it both Biz and Caz. Some people prefer that over a twill just because it looks different than the usual "khaki" pant.

The G&L is a more traditional twill. It's a great quality fabric that's a touch more "normal" in appearance. Both will definitely serve you well.

That said, if I could choose one of our pants to go with that Luigi jacket, then it would be the Clay Rivet Chino. Match that up with some snuff suede shoes and you're GTG. Our clay stock is pretty low at the moment, but we'll bring more in soon or you can always do MTO. Rivet MTO's are pretty fast, and usually arrive in 3-4 weeks.

Epaulet Indigo Crewneck Sweat Preview

We're pretty jazzed about this....

Around the 3rd week of April we're going to release our crewneck (pictured) and the new hoodie in natural indigo-dyed 10oz French terry.

The color is really boss. It will wash out of the cloth naturally - just like a jean. We're doing a dye test right now to see if we can take some of the pieces and overdye them black. We MAY be able too, but this may be hard to do if the knit yarns already soaked up their maximum with the first dye bath. If we can't make a true black one, then we'll go in the opposite direction and run it through several enzyme washes to release a medium-wash variant. I think that you guys will really dig this!

Oh, and I'm wearing the infamous 5" inseam shorts here. Available for special order to anyone who wants a pair icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Hahah. That's awesome. I know the pictures were for the sweater, but the shorts stole the show, Mike!

Waiting for the hoodie myself.

Mike, MTOs look great. Thank-you for your hard work to make this happen! Will the 1810 cotton khaki be available? It in the swatch pictures but not showing in the "Material" drop down. From a Rudy guy, thank-you.
