Would replace my Patagonia's that are wearing out at the knees.  Love the idea!

Agreed - fleece pants would be killer.

Have to chime in to say YES to fleece pants and also +1 about higher rise chinos. As a dude with weird proportions (long torso, short and skinny legs), higher rise helps keep shirts tucked and balance my proportions out.

After wearing it yesterday, I can say that even if that's the only day all year I got to wear it, then it's still worth keeping it forever.

If you're a size 38-40, you should sell it. Otherwise, keep it.

So, I'm not sure if I'm getting institutionalized here in LA and that's leading me to believe that you guys would be into a pair of impossibly rad fleece pants. But I've got a sample in work to test the waters.

What would you guys say to a slim-fit pair of EPLA fleece pants with zip pockets, drawstring waist, and cuffs at the ankle? Done in thick heathered fleece, just like on the crewneck sweatshirt.

Haha, yes to slim fit fleece pants with a 7-7.5" max leg opening. May I also suggest one button snap closure back pocket and faux fly (or extra reinforced fabric on inside seam at crotch to prevent that..how do you say, unlikely...bulge outline. Personally, no cuff would be my preference, but what kind of cuff you have in mind? Something like this? That type of cuff would be good, so you can get a tight fit tight at the ankle to prevent wind from getting in, but long enough so that you can fold the hem over so that it falls over your sneaker if that makes sense.

I'm indifferent on zipper pockets, but were you thinking something like this:

If you're using Patagonia fleece pants (in public as casual gear I mean) then you haven't been doing it right, but yes, EPLA fleece sweats would up that game.

WTF was my immediate thought also. Not too worried about it for now as I've had this happen once or twice in the past. Maybe I've been lucky but so far when this has happened, I've only had to deal with a few days delay with delivery. I am a little bummed because I was going to wear it out this eve while taking my lady friend (wife) out for cocktails.

By the way Mike, are the LA shirts going to be darted, if so, will we have the option to purchase sans darts? Haven't been getting shirts from you guys lately due to my preference for a slightly looser fit.

Ha, Ha.  No, I don't wear fleece pants outside....lounging only or skiing base layer

Mike, you can skip Riri zips on the hoodie. They are nice but for what's essentially a casual piece, I would trust that you could find a suitably solid YKK or other brand "notion" for the right price.

If it's the difference between, say, a $150 piece and $185, that's a deal breaker for a lot people. Including, potentially, myself.

Nope, all of the LA shirts will be undarted.

I'm really excited to show you guys the western shape! We'll be a bit more playful with the shirts here, so they'll have edgier details and pockets than our EPNY pieces.

So yesterday I was at my patternmaker's office. And I overheard them talking about a new women's line, and it went like this...

"Yes, I know what they're looking for. Something really elegant and dressy. So the line HAS to have both a long sweat pant and a short sweat pant."

It was hilarious! Seriously, this would be the South Park parody of a LA clothing design session. All that they needed was a special edition UGG boot in the same sweat pant fleece.

I'm really grateful that I asked you guys - we're going to push forward with the idea. Ultimately this will be a pretty cool fleece pant that (I think) you could wear outside comfortably. I wouldn't see it going Band of Outsiders style with a wool hopsack blazer and a repp stripe tie, but I would style this with our upcoming s/s polo, sport trainers, t-shirt, and a cotton jacket. You guys are brilliant with the way that you pair up our more sartorial pieces, so I'm really keen to see where you take the casual pieces.

Agreed, there's many good options. And that price difference is almost exactly where we'd be. Without the Riri zips, I could see us putting out a really amazing piece for well under $150. The pricing on those is straight-up extortionate. We'll still get a great quality two-way zip without them.

Can I go out on a limb here and say...EPLA underwear?

Anyone second this?

So short sweat pants are a ladies only thing then? Noted...

And a wrinkle in the space-time continuum left me in possession of both the brown canvas and the moleskin Walts today, despite the fact that they were featured in the newsletter just this morning. Both are fantastic. For those looking for a heavier cotton trouser (though by no means super heavy), consider the moleskin. A unique fabric and so soft.

On the one hand, yes.

On the other hand, guys. GUISE. The last couple pages have already brought terror into my soul and wallet.

Yeah, it's going to be a real problem. On the plus side, knowledge of these impending drops allows me to forestall other purchases which may or may not have been as well considered.

So there's that..

In a ridiculous turn of events, my oatmeal sport coat is on the same exact derailed train in hodgkins.  They better get that thing upright and moving again.
