Just to confirm, if I call in to do one of the Vass MTOs, can I still get the 15% off on a Rudy order for one of the new tweeds? Or does the discount only apply to items that are currently in stock?

Sure, we can do it on the Rudy trousers. I don't pay a surcharge for those, so it's the same as if we have it in stock. And I know that a lot of potential Vass guys also take the Rudy cut.

Absolutely, we'll have all of those online before the event.

I'm going to coordinate all of the phone orders here in Santa Monica, so anyone looking to place an MTO can call me directly on those two days. We'll have all of the info and pricing in place.

The Single Breasted model is shockingly warm for its weight. It largely comes from the Valtherm lining that sits under the wool. Like Gore-Tex, it breathes and lets moisture out, but also provides excellent insulation when paired with the quilted wool on top. I've personally worn my Veneto DB on early winter days with a substantial sweater underneath. Matt wore his through most of the NY winter last year. It's important to note also that the technical nature of this jacket means that it can also be worn in the early Fall. Wear it without a sweater and you're good around 65F or lower. So you'll have plenty of opportunities to wear it throughout the year.

The Overcoat is heavier than the SB, but that extra warmth largely comes from the zip-out liner. So that will be excellent on cold winter days, but it can also be worn without the liner on milder ones. Dylan chose that to be his NY winter jacket for this season.

Also, the harris tweed eisenhower looks slick! As do the gloveralls.

Thanks! For Wyatt fans we'll have the new black and brown horsehide versions here early next week.

The 3/8 lined purple shetland jacket that I have for sale is perfect indoors and out.

It depends on your comfort level, but that fabric is very much a standard flannel weight, and it's a very popular F/W fabric for suits. At this point, I estimate that we've made over 50 Oxford Grey suits. This cloth is a bit more luxurious than what we use for the Walt trousers, but it's very close in weight.

Thank you sir! Glad to hear that you're so pleased with it. I've been wearing my Mulberry almost every night here in SoCal.

Awesome, the boots look great! Can't wait to see how they age.

If you could, would appreciate seeing some fit pics.
You posted a pic of a Belstaff in a different thread quite some time ago and I thought that jacket was awesome...the name of the jacket escapes me at the moment.

Yes, yes, the mirror is overly dirty. Cleaning day is tomorrow and we're in the middle of remodeling.

Given the Vass MTO event and related sale can anyone who follows the Vass thread post some of the all time best/favorite MTO make ups so we can get some ideas of options. Would really help those of us who can"t be there in person. Thanks

There's an Epaulet x Vass MTO thread on SF that already has a bunch of ideas in it. If people are going to be placing orders next weekend, I'm guessing the choices will already be decided on for group MTOs. Unless you are thinking of doing a single-order MTO. In that case, I'd love to see what kind of crazy makeups some people come up with on the spot.

I am looking at getting my first sport coat.  I am 6'2 and 210lbs and wear a size 42.   The consensus seems to be navy, and the fabric seems to be hopsack.

Which is a better first and only sport coat choice?  Caine hopsack or Napoli hopsack.

I'll let the core SC wearers chime in but I'd say this depends on two main things: 1) Your body type, as the unstructured shoulder of the Napoli may not suit everyone's build 2) Your style/needs--do you/would you wear it for work? Do like the more Euro look/feel of the Napoli? Or the more classic structured shoulder?

This thread has a lot of great info and posters. I'm sure you'll get great input

Hey guys,

Sorry if anyone missed the newsletter - it looks like something was funky with Icontact this week. Let me run through all of the items that we launched. First off is the Eisenhower jacket. Same great shape as last year, but with one inch added to the body length. Available in Harris Tweed this time around too.

Eisenhower Navy Melton Wool Jacket: $450
