As I recall, Mike got a crazy one-off deal on the fabric, so if it's not all gone it's probably pricey.

Any more alden boots on the horizon? I was wondering if there was any chance of these beauties coming back ...

We bought this from Southwick last year. I thought that it was KILLER. The Italian flannel has a perfect light-medium weight and a killer hand. When Southwick first ran it, the retail was around $900, but we bought it off price and were able to put it out at $650.

And I'm not sure what happened. I went a little crazy ordering navy jackets. Maybe it got lost in the assortment and blended in too much in the shops. But it was never really all that popular. For the second time around actually. So we've marked it down.

But I have to say, it's a killer jacket. Very Cucinelli-esque in the fabric's weight and feel. It's an excellent biz-caz piece especially. The fabric is pretty fine, so if you wear it with jeans then you'd have to go whole hog with dress shoes and a good collared shirt (IMO). Please note that it does have self elbow patches, if they're a point for you either way.

Talking to everyone: if you like the look of this jacket and it's your style, then you're going to love how it feels. It's really comfortable, the wool has a great weight, and it's 3/8 lined to wear cool in warmer climes / heated offices & schools. It's a great staple piece for the price.

Sweet, that is just what I wanted to hear!..  And the "Cucinelli-esque" fabric feel makes it sound even better!  I am glad I snagged the 38 before asking... Thanks for the description Mike!

It may be the resolution and the lighting, but this reads grey on my screen.

Aww, man. I was offline when the sale went up because I got married then ran an ultramarathon... and by the time I saw this the 38's were gone! Bah, that'll teach me not to go without the internet for this long. Maybe one of the fellas that snagged the 38's will end up parting with one on B&S.

I can only hope frown.gif

Dude, I totally lucked out.  It was not on the sale page initially.  Luckily my page reloaded when i turned on my browser on my phone and there it was.

How long was the ultra?

thanks man! It was a good week, for sure.

Nice, I keep a regular eye on the site and have snagged sale stuff in much the same manner.

It was a 100km run. Not an easy one as well, but I'm a tough cookie, and managed to get it done.

Hmmm a lot more 38s in here than I thought. That's competition.

*Goes to write an auto script to continuously scan Epaulet's website for keywords on the sale section*

I have a perfect excuse for not striving to run an ultra (or a marathon, for that matter), if that was going to happen, I would probably need to sell off all my EP stuff to swap it for a smaller size :teach:

I noticed that Converse Jack Purcell White Leather sneakers can be worn with Epaulet Grey chinos here: http://epauletnewyork.com/collections/trousers-chinos/products/rivet-chino-grey-ripstop

Can these also be worn with the Oxford Grey Flannels? http://epauletnewyork.com/collections/trousers-chinos/products/slim-walt-trouser-oxford-grey-flannel

What is a good casual wool fabric for the trousers in gray? I'm thinking flannel.

Yup, absolutely - we'll layer them into the special order item as soon as they arrive. And thanks to all of the Rudy guys who have ordered so far - we're making a lot of windopane flannels!

Well, I've got them all here in Santa Monica, but if you're in NYC, then the guys can certainly fit you with another jacket in a similar fabric.

Yup, still looking at October for that, probably the middle-end.

Haha, that question comes up all of the time. It's an extra belt loop in case you want to add it to the center. The Walts have no center loop to allow for tailoring.

That's a good question. We bought that specific Camel Hair off price, but I'm not sure if we have more of that fabric. If we do, then we can offer a seriously competitive price on it and maybe cut a few more coats. I'll check and get back to you. Southwick has a Camel Hair in their line this year too, but I think it would price out at about $1200.

Absolutely, provided that Southwick has more fabric. I'm pretty sure that they do. The MTO of that would be $100 over the retail price, and you can just drop us an email if you'd like to order it. You could customize any other details if you like too.

Always! We love Alden boots. I've got a bunch on order, but it's hard to say when they'll arrive. We've been getting new deliveries about every 8 weeks or so.

From a few paces away it does read as grey, but you'll definitley see the lavender up close. If you're looking for a solid grey then we're going to put up a great grey flannel this week for MTO work which can be a jacket or a suit. Or you can also order an MTO of the Salt & Pepper Donegal too. We've got enough of that to make around 5-6 coats.

Hmm, good question here. Of course you "can." I would say that most of Styleforum would find the flannel trousers too dressy to be worn with Jack Purcells. Although wearing them with boots and more casual shoes like Clarks DB's can work very well.

That said, I've seen guys pull this off. It's definitely more of a streetwear look. I'd probably advise a leather sneaker over a canvas one though, as that will jive better with the Fall/Winter style of the trousers. I've seen guys wear them with GAT's and Stan Smith-styled sneakers and it looks cool. One of our Manhattan customer definitely wears his with Jordan 1's pretty frequently.

Yup, Oxford Grey flannel is the king of wool trouser versatility. Great fabric and goes with nearly everything.
