Pretty sure it's going to be more expensive, but you'll be able to customize some things, like length, which will offset some of the upcharge, because I'm sure almost everyone takes their trousers to be hemmed.

It really depends if they're going to offer the Rudy as an MTO, with lots of options to change things, or if they are going to keep it simple and set it up basically as if you were ordering a Walt off the website, only in the Rudy cut. I would definitely prefer the latter.

^ he said it would be just like the rivet chino MTO, so i'm guessing the former

Nope, the Rudy special orders will be at the usual price. We only pass along an MTO upcharge when we're given one by the factory. With Rudy's, we're able to make them as one-off's for the same price. But that said, there's also not a customization option: the trousers will just come in their usual shape, with a 38" unfinished inseam. We can cut anything from a 28 to a 40 waist.

And thanks mikeharo! The Windowpane flannels will definitely be in there! Our plan is to build out two Rudy Items (one wool, one cotton), and to eventually have every pant with additional available fabric listed in there. So you'll be able to order our season-to-season basics (medium grey super 120s, olive canvas, navy hopsack, etc) as well. We'll start working on that this week, and we'll try to have at least the new Fall fabrics online by the weekend.

For Southwick sportcoats, I've been wearing 40 without any alterations, but I suspect my optimal size might be 39 (have an FF sportcoat on order at 39). Given this, I have a snorkel parka at size 38 and I think it's a great fit. It's not loose yet can accommodate a sweather underneath. I don't think 36 would have worked for me.

Yup, I would agree with this and recommend the Snorkel 38. Should be a spot-on fit with a thick sweater underneath.

The Navy Yard is an amazing place. My wife has been working on getting it listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Thanks for posting the shots - they look fantastic!

MGD, Mike - thanks for the advice! Now, just need to see what my budget will look like.. as I'm thinking of getting a leather jacket for a Christmas/NY present to myself rolleyes.gif

Epaulet shorts and loafers.

So will there be any way to order a Rudy with a longer inseam? I've gotten a 40" inseam on some of my previous Rudy orders, since 38" isn't quite long enough if I want to put a cuff on them.

Thanks for coming by and glad that you dig them!
You can add me to this chorus too - I'm definitely picking up the POW's in Rudy.

Good news for Rudy guys: we're going to eliminate the whole massive-order-all-at-once thing. Rather than doing a defined week of preorders, we're going to build out an online MTO item just like the ones that we have for the Rivet Chino. We should have that going in a few days, and we'll be able to take Rudy orders at all times, and we'll layer in all of the new fabrics for it.

Shit. I need to make more monies.

Thanks for this clarification, Mike. Sounds good to leave the program as-is price-wise while increasing product availability and awareness. (Also, selfishly, it is nicer on my wallet)

Someone should make a flow cart: gets a better job, go on SF, buy Epaulet, looks for new job with higher pay to fund the addiction. Haha.

Ugh oh... I knew there was a reason I started looking for a higher paying job this morning.  Sh*t.  baldy[1].gif  wink.gif

That POW check is pretty fantastic. Someone should definitely get that made up as a 3-piece suit (and post photos in the thread). I know I should be the one, but I can't right now, so someone else is going to have to step up.
