You guys should advertise over on CM.  The consensus is that there is no where to try on Vass in New York and there no retailer in the US sells Vass.

  • Rivets Duck Canvas - Chocolate
  • Rivets Duck Canvas - Desert
  • Rivets 8oz. Canvas - Navy
  • Rivets Brushed Heavyweight - Taupe

I'm leaning towards the navy because I like the color, but I wonder about how versatile they would be?

Thanks for your feedback!

Before you choose one, take into account that the brushed heavyweight is REALLY warm, warmer than the duck canvas and I'd say it breathes worse (I have an olive one and plan on adding the taupe one too). To me the navy is the most versatile of them all.

Finally have to contribute something that's not a self-shot shog[1].gif This is from a themed group bike ride, blue pinpoint oxford, FF madras walts, orange-laced Alden navy suede LWB. There's also a black bowtie in there which I contemplated leaving at home but decided to wear it.

The theme was this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stilyagi foo.gif

Thanks for the heads up on the brushed heavyweight!  That fabric might be too warm for Southern California.

For the navy, would you go with the 8oz. canvas rivet, or the duck canvas walt?

How about the Rivets Duck Canvas - Caramel? That's a great color for a chino.

How versatile would they be?  To me they look a little mustard-y and I can't imagine what I would pair them with.

Agreed. Khaki is a staple color for chinos.

If you wear jeans frequently you may find you rarely wear navy chinos.
I would suggest khaki then chocolate.
The chocolate canvas is a nice dark brown that's pretty flexible.

Extremely versatile, I wear mine all the time. You can wear them with anything that pairs with a standard khaki chino, which is pretty much almost any casual or biz casual wear. The caramel color is just a little bit bolder, but it's definitely not hard to pair at all.

May not be the best example, but I'm wearing my caramel today. (I could wear them everyday, I try for only once a week)
