I took a gamble as they were on sale with no returns haha.

I emailed Mike about the pair that were available in UK 9/US 10. Told him I wear the following:

In Carmina Salinger double monks I'm a 10

In the Alden for Epaulet Natural Chromexcel Longwing I'm a 10.5

In Allen Edmonds Strand I'm an 11

In Chucks I'm a 10.5

He said that most guys take the same size in the Inca and the Forest last, and would drop a full size from the AE Strand.

They do fit and are a touch snug but I suspect they'll break in nice once they soften up. The leather is so nice.

Hey Mike-
Can you provide us with a run-down of some of the new Walts you will be receiving for Fall?

Anyone have experience with how they'll break in?

Bastard. I had been eyeing that size 10 for days, and then it was gone. smile.gif

Well, wear them in good health!

I popped on the site to see what was left in the sale section and came across a pair of the #8 alt wien's back in stock in a 10.5. I'm glad I popped on when I did...

I have them in natural chromexcel. They are buttery soft and have molded to my feet quite nicely. They are one of my favorite shoes, especially in wet/snowy weather. You will love them.

Just cut the threading along the inseam all the way up and redid it closer to the edge. You can't see the original stitch, which was what I was most afraid of. It gave me about an extra 2/3 to 3/4 inch of room. Exactly what I wanted.

I used to sew military gear when I was younger to fund myself between jobs so I've got somewhat of a skill stitching. But adjusting rise, waistband, etc, is way way beyond me.

Hi Rob, how did you like Charleston? I go there quit a bit as my Uncle has a vacation home there. It's one of my favorite destinations and only a 2 hour drive from where I live.
