Matt, that jacket looks killer. Was that made from a standard Epaulet template, or did you go MTM on this one?

That and what is the weaving like on the cloth? i.e. twill, herringbone, plain.

Damnit, Matt! I need to start saving up now for that Loro Piana Samuelsohn in the fall, and you're not making it easy. censored.gif

I ordered the unstructured shoulder, but that didn't end up working that well for me. So I had my tailor fix the shoulders (add slight padding and take out the extra fabric) and had him dial in the body. Definitely the most comfortable and best fitting jacket I own.

It's got a similar weave to the hopsack. Nice and loose.

You people have no regard for the sanctity of my wallet lol. So I'm close to pulling the trigger, but I have one hang up.

This will be my first Epaulet jacket and the measurements of the jacket line up pretty much perfectly with my own measurements with the exception of one thing. Of course, it's that most important of measurements: the shoulder measurement. I measured a very well fitting jacket, and the shoulder measurement is 18". The shoulder measurement on the Napoli for my size (40) is 17.5". Will the half inch make a big enough difference that I should size up?

For reference, these are my measurements:

Chest: 39.75"

Shoulder: 18"

Sleeve (from shoulder seam): 26"

Waist: 34"

I'm 5'10" 175, fairly athletic build.

Problem solved thanks to Matt! I'm going with the 40. I'll leave this here in case it can help someone else.

Interesting, the lapels looked significantly wider on that jacket compared to most other pics I've seen of EP jackets. I was thinking of maybe ordering one of the FF jackets this go round, but now I'll probably just wait for the Samuelsohn stuff to roll out.....that is unless Samuelsohn is significantly more expensive than the Southwick line.

^thecool85: I have similar chest/shoulder measurements and I have 40s and 41s in EP jackets. Both fit comfortably. I had to have the body taken in on the 41s. None are the Napoli fit, but I think I'm ordering a Napoli from the current FF and will go 40.

Of course, I'd also listen to whatever Matt says... :-)

Today: Ashland shirt, khaki RC, and caramel Alt Wiens.

Thanks man. Matt helped me sort everything out via PM so I went ahead and placed the order for the size 40. I already can't wait for it to get here! And those Alt Wiens look awesome man. I don't know which ones I like more these or the green Vass ones you have.

I PM'd you, but for anyone else that might have this question:

All the sporcoat measurements on the website are done on the front of the jacket. The shoulder, if measured across the back, is going to be around a 1/2" or so bigger. Just so you guys are aware or if you've been trying to decipher your size based on our measurements.

The lapels are our standard 3". I hope that we can offer a bigger option for you guys in the future.

Samuelsohn will definitely be more expensive than our Southwick offerings, but not by a ton. I would say they are like Carmina to Alden, in terms of quality and pricing. A little more, but definitely a killer product and value for the money.

This is so many shades of gnarly! I'm glad you picked up the Alt Wien. That shirt/jacket is pretty killer as well! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thanks for the info on the Samuelsohn pricing....sounds good, and pretty much matched what I was expecting. It's probably too far out to tell, but will you have Factory Finds offerings with them similar to Southwick?

Pulled the trigger recently on my first pair of Epaulet trousers: Regimental Twill Walts in Khaki. Thrilled with the fit, details, etc. and I'm already looking at duck canvas.

I ran these through a wash/dry cycle to get any shrinkage out before their trip to the tailor. While they shrank a bit in length, the overall fit in the waist stayed the same.

Regarding duck canvas fabric - can I expect the same results (very little shrinkage after wash/dry) if I went with the same size as the twill?

So much congrats! Look forward to the jackets to come, and everything else. Huge props to the Ep crew.
