I have both, but I haven't washed the point collar one yet. The green one hasn't shrunk in any noticeable way. I'll report back once I wash the other one.

"Thank you for placing your order with Epaulet New York!" icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I'm a college student who has been lurking for over a year imbibing everything the forvm has to teach. Today I got my first paycheck of the summer, and after a year of virtually no purchasing (a decision inspired by this thread), I am beginning to upgrade basics. Thank you Styleforum. I have learned much from both sides of the forum, and look forward to participating more in the future.

Ah I wish that we could, but this model is pretty fixed. I'll certainly have a bunch of other Alt Wiens to choose from in the Fall though. We should have a Carmina hatch grain model on the Forest last, which is going to be pretty boss, and the sizing should work if you like the Leydon.

I'm hardly one to quibble over $5 but I figured it was worth bringing to you guys attention.

Ah sorry about that - I'll get that fixed.

Can someone help with Carmina sizing?  I wear an 11D US.  The AE 5-65 last is a perfect fit for me.  I know all lasts are different, but I need to start somewhere.  Any initial suggestions?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks so much - glad that you dig the trousers!

Most of our customers drop a full size from most Allen Edmonds lasts (so a 10UK in your case). Some only drop a half size, but that's typically for slimmer lasts like the Simpson. On our more commonly used lasts - Inca, Forest, and Rain, most of my customers have found that the full size drop works.

Excellent, thank you! Looking forward to the pics.

First, I want to get it out there that I own 7 epaulet shirts - including 4 from the late-great MTO program. I'm really glad I found epaulet, the shirts are as good as it gets.

Now, the PSA: Be mindful when ordering the denim point collar workshirt. Yes, the shirt is awesome! The fabric is outstanding, and the build quality is top-notch. I ordered up a size so I could wear it as a light overshirt. It worked out perfectly, until I washed it. I washed it cold/cold and line dried (that's how I wash everything). The shirt lost just under 3/4" in sleeve length between the sleeves actually shrinking (-.5") and the shoulders tightening up. I also lost nearly 3/4" in overall shirt length. I'm really bummed. frown.gif

Anyway, just be aware when ordering this shirt that it will shrink.

Ah man, I'm sorry to hear that. We've sold a lot of those shirts, and I haven't received that feedback from anyone else - but denim shrinkage can sometimes depend on the hardness of your water and what soap that you use.

That said, every denim garment has a bit of shrinkage after the first wash, but it's not necessarily permanent. Our selvedge Rivet chinos were like this. After the initial shrinkage, the inseam lengthened by one full inch by wearing the garment for an hour. It's harder to break in a shirt than a jean, but lighter denim tends to shrink less.

I'd suggest dunking the shirt completely in water - in your sink or so, no soap required - and then stretching it out by hand while its still wet. Be sure to grab the fabric itself to stretch it - don't pull on the seams. I think that you'll find that much of that length comes back, and it should stretch and break in further when you actually wear it.

Mike-

We're the XL Luchino restocks just going to be in green and the new charcoal or the other colors as well? Hoping for the navy and aubergene...

I like the steel and brown linen fabrics but I'm hesitant to pull trigger because of the side-tabs... I feel like they automatically make the trousers look really formal -- even though linen is not particularly so.  How are people wearing them?  Are they really noticeable?

It will be green, charcoal, and navy - we're going to retire aubergene for the Fall season. Probably bring that back in the Spring through - it's a really boss color.

It really depends on your taste. I'd say that many guys think that the side tabs make them less formal, as you're then wearing the trousers without a belt. You definitely see them, but they're a cool old-school detail that people usually compliment you for. It just matters if you like them.

Armoury Jeans Fit Shots

Dylan picked up a pair of the Armoury Jeans when they first arrived, and he's put some pretty good wear on them. After a trip to Vienna's insane Prater Amusement Park (and quite a few beers), I scored some atypical fit shots of him in the jeans.

And yes, that is a huge moving hamster wheel for humans. With a coy nude portrait of a woman. It's a great way to break your neck. That's how they do it in Vienna. It dumped me right on my ass.

Denim looks pretty nice and I like that Matt has gone in coat and tie.

And is this the amusement park shown in The Third Man by any chance? I guess I could google that, but that's a conversation killer.

Edit: Damn, couldn't help myself. Went right to google. But what I did learn is that I may need to change my avatar and SF moniker. The Ferris wheel in the Prater seems to have been built by one Lt. Walter Bassett Bassett, RN. See below.

That's one heck of a name.

Can Epaulet name some Carmina's the Bassett Bassetts? How about it?

It sure is! He rides on the "Riesenrad" ferris wheel. It's still there and going strong:

I shot a photo as we were leaving the park. It's beautiful.

Edit: ^ FrankCowperwood: Agreed, that picture is unstoppable. Name is unreal. We'll definitely name something the Bassett, although the Bassett Bassett might be pushing it. I've got two Ludwig Reiter shoes to name, and he definitely looks like a single monk kind of guy.

The fit pic of Dylan in the Amoury denim look way more stylish then on the site. Look like a really good slim straight cut. Hhhmmm...

you guys have way too much fun for this to be called work. I'm ready to sign up as manager of the LA store. Also, I'm still kind of mad at Dylan for taking the last pair of the black Chelsea boots in my size. They look awesome. I'm tempted to try to squeeze into 11s.

By any chance, does that mean I could email in an order now in one of the more common Walt fabrics and pick it up in person once I've moved in?  Or should I just wait for another Rudy window?  No pressure here again!

Wanted to repeat this question!  Thanks, guys.
