It often will depend on the quality/purity of tap water in your area. Where I live the tap has a lot of alkaline minerals, so have to go distilled for almost everything

For those looking at the MTO sportcoats...

...what combo would you go for if you're putting together a casual jacket intent on pairing with jeans?  Basically want to avoid the orphaned suit jacket look.

...all open patch pockets?

...is it alright to mix and match, and go welt on the breast and then open patch on the hip?  What's the best combo?

I think patch pockets will make it look more like a SC, less like an orphaned suit jacket. You can definitely do welt breast with open patch hip pockets. I think there are some examples of this in the made to stocks SCs. The unstructured (Napoli) option might be better for a casual look.

Couldn't find an email address on the site and must have deleted my recent emails but I found one of these tucked inside one of my boots in my most recent order. Get in touch if you want me to send it back so it can be with its partner.

Open patch hip pockets with a welt breast pocket is my preferred configuration for unstructured jackets -- perfect for an odd jacket.

I know the 7oz rivets are great lightweight pants, but which Walts are best for the scorching summer days?

Taking the Petrol Blue Walts for a maiden spin today.  These would be good for warm days  ^^^^

I've got my linen Walts lined up for humid scorchers as well as this sold-out linen/tropical wool blend and some of the lighter-weight wool Walts (the Navy Micro-Houndstooth, Brown Houndstooth Super 120s and Medium Grey Super 120s specifically).

Agreed.  Linen, Super 120's or Duck's in Walts would be good

Any plans to restock in the saddle shell makeups or the cognac balmoral boot?

Thanks guys.  I think I am set on breast welt pocket and open patch pockets at the hip.

Definitely the unstructured napoli w/ 3/8 lining also...

...lastly is choosing between the navy hopsack and navy duck.  Anyone with either fabrics want to chime in?  I'm really undecided and my main intent is to create a casual SC to pair with denim.  Will the duck fabric wear and fade faster?  Might go w/ hopsack if that's the case.

Hope you guys had a good time.

I picked these up from the sale section a few days ago (hard as hell to find waist 31 Walts). They look great cuffed like that. I think I'll do the same to mine when they arrive.
