Epaulet shop - Official Affiliate thread - Page 1326

Spring is finally here in the Philly.  First really nice day since last fall.  So before this thread turns into an ode to cotton, linen, and seersucker (not there's anything wrong with that), I wanted to post a quick pick of my favorite pair of Epaulet trousers from this past season - navy speckled flannel.  I'm *slightly* sad I will be putting them away in the next week or so, but a few 70 degree days will help me get over it.  Fall will be here soon enough.  Shown with Alden snuff suede PTB (for J.Crew) and Club Monaco sweater.

So, did I read that correctly (catching up after a weekend away): For *this month* MTO shirting orders are getting turned around w/in a week or so?

Was hoping for one before a trip, but since that would for sure not happen at 4-6 weeks, I just figured I'd wait...but if I might get in before the end of the month...icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

EDIT: Someone buy my size Large shirts already. Sheesh.

^^ Yeah, Mike's reply just seemed to imply that perhaps there was a situation that was affecting more than just your order (meaning a faster turn around time right now, for a limited time), but I could have read it wrong.

Hey guys!

Hope that all is well, and I'm really glad that the sale trousers were well received!

We're honestly running out of room in our Manhattan store, so Adele and I sat down and decided to clear out some goods at psycho prices, but only post the links here. We consciously didn't mention it in our big newsletter so that you guys have the best access to all of it. As always, we're incredibly grateful for all the support and enthusiasm here, and this thread will always be the first place that we mention any kind of special deals.

I believe that most customers who ordered during that first week have their shirts now. We made up about 50 of them or so.

On average, you should expect about a 3-4 week turnaround. To cover their ass, the factory asks us to quote 4-6. And there will be times when they have a lighter workload and can deliver in 2-3. Or, in less than two weeks, which happened on this first go-around. We were amazed!

28's are going to be by special order only from here on in. I wish that we could offer them as a regular item, but there's just not enough demand for them. From here on in, the following is by special order exclusively:

Walts in 28 and larger than 36
All Rudy Trousers
Rivet Chinos in 28 & 29, and larger than 36
Sportcoats in 34R and larger than 42R.

But, the good news is, we do a lot of special orders these days. The process is fast and streamlined. And your 28 trousers or chinos don't cost any more than they usually do - there's just a bit of a lead time. You can email us at anytime, and if we have the cloth, then we can cut you a trouser or chino by request.

Hmmm, a moss jacket would be great! I spoke with Southwick about Desert, and for whatever reason, that one particular color is just too stiff to make up. This doesn't matter on the chinos as you can wash them, but in a sportcoat - which you can't wash - it's going to make for a really uncomfortable garment. But we can probably swing moss.

Oh sorry about that, they're size 38.

I know that a Large with the modified neck will fit me almost perfectly, but I will probably need to get the waist suppressed just a tad. Should I get the shirt made without darts, and then just have a tailor add them in for me to get a perfect fit, rather than have a tailor adjust the existing darts? Or, should I get the darts added on my MTO order, and then just get the waist taken in from the side seams? I'm thinking it may just be easier to do the 2nd option.

I'd order with the darts and then adjust further if you need to. It's surprising how few tailors can do darting properly. Unless you know a guy who's good at it, then I'd trust them more to do the side seam alteration. Our factory-made darts were the result of some very detailed instructions.

Great minds think alike! We're definitely going to add an entire stripe package with striped oxfords, small dress stripes, and wide "butcher" stripes. We've got some gonzo prints and things to offer too. I'd say that they'll be new MTO options for shirting within the next 7-10 days.

Pretty slim at this point - we don't have many size 35 guys requesting them. But you can certainly special order a 35 with us. We get monthly deliveries of Rivet Chinos, so it's really easy to tack on that odd size. Same price as usual, you just need to email us to get the ball rolling.

I believe it's for everyone or most at least. I received tracking on the two MTO shirts I ordered and they will be arriving tomorrow.

Edit: Mike now answers this above.

Mike/Matt,

Question about the bone linen/cotton fabric - is it dark enough that there would be enough contrast to wear it w/ a solid white shirt? I always have a hard time judging fabrics on my monitor.

Thanks.

Jury Duty today. Seeing what all my hard work produces is very disheartening. One Juror literally said to the attorney questioning her that she wasn't paying attention so she couldn't answer her question. She was serious, and not just trying to get out of jury duty...smh. Anyway, got several compliments on the outfit, and when I told one guy where the jacket was from, he was like, "Oh, Epaulet, cool. Its one of my go to spots." I thought to myself, "You don't know the half."

LOL, no I wish. Not yet. My kids go to day care above the bar named "Yellow Hook Grille", also named after the old Bay Ridge.

Surprised me too. I was about to flash over to google maps and route a path to the store.

I do wish the MTO shirts had an option for a slightly fuller body. Perhaps the navy label fit, once the sizing is finished. (Almost positive this will never happen, but still).

Mike-two questions:

1) A while ago you said you guys were doing a single breast version of the venetto in the winter or something along those lines. Is that still on and if so, do you have any specific details on it yet?

2) I asked a while ago about the popover cutaway shirts. Are you going to restock them or should I just order from the MTO process?
