I'm so tempted by the Staple rivet chinos at their current sale price, even though they're probably too small. While ordering the Kurabo Smiths in 28 worked out, I'm thinking that unfortunately might not be the case for these due to limited stretching?

I have the Cone Smiths in 28 and took a 30 in the Staple chinos, for what it's worth.

I received my Thorogood No. 685s in cow-hide and I am pretty impressed. The welting was little rough around the edges, but nothing a little trimming didn't clean up. I think Mike was right on about the leather; the leather seems to fit in perfect with the spring/summer, but that can also be used for the fall. I don't know how well the sole would do on ice but I have my Redwing GTs for that. After applying a coat of Montna Pitch Blend, the color and consistency really looked like the beeswax leather on a Clark DB. I can't wait to work-in this pull-up and get a good look.

Here some grainy pictures (sorry) of the boot and comparing them with the color with the Redwing GT (chestnut & cigar colors). The No. 685 looks close to the cigar in the picture, but it is a few shades light in real life. The GT is obviously a smoother and it looks more dressy to me.

Thanks again Mike for all your help, the 9.5D fit perfectly!

mike-
I was referring to the canvas on the Racing Green Walts.
What is hand like on that? Is it soft? Is it prome to wrinkling?

Thanks for picking them up - you're going to love them! The fabric is pretty soft already, but it will get softer with washing. And although it's 100% cotton and not treated with any kind of wrinkle-free treatment, canvas and textured fabrics like it are naturally resistant to wrinkling. Fold them nicely after wearing them, and you shouldn't have to worry about it.

So that's 0.5" longer than the current chinos? Might be just about perfect for me.

Yup, a half inch longer than they are now.

So the new rivet chino leg openings won't have any additional fabric to let down like current stock?
Also, does that also mean the new Walts now have more than 2 inches to let down? (which would be awesome for us 6'4" guys!)

No, the chinos are a full 36" inseam while the Walt/Rudy's are hemmed at 34" with an extra 2" additional that can be let out.

But at 6'4", you're definitely at the edge. We may be able to run a few extra long trousers for you as a special order - maybe done with a 38" unfinished hem. Drop Matt a PM at leftofthedial if you'd be interested in doing that.

Is the Alden Cigar pre-order that's coming up soon going to be a shortwing or a longwing? I've seen some people post SWB but others post LWB so I just wanted to double check the details.
EDIT: Also what happened to the random drawing for these?

I believe that we're going to do both a SWB and a LWB special order. Looks like there's enough interest in both patterns.

And you're totally right on the trouser drawing - it completely got away from me. I'm going to be at our BK store tomorrow and we're going to rock it!

Can the speckled charcoal chambray be dressed up with a tie and a pair of trousers?

Absolutely. It's a great match to a cotton, wool, or textured silk tie. It looks great with knit ties. And I've seen a few guys were them with Hill-Side neckwear as well.

just got my rudy 3 season wool pants back from the tailor .. these things are ******* awesome. best fitting pants ive ever tried on. its funny that when looking at the website measurements i think i'd need a 32/33 in the walt, but a 34 in the rudy fits perfectly.

Awesome, glad that it worked out for you!

Hey Mike, what's the weight on the indigo duck canvas?

It's 10oz. A bit heavier than our usual 8.5oz chino canvas, but a bit lighter than the usual raw jean (12-14oz).

Hey Mike, any chance at doing some future rivet chinos with the rear thigh pocket found on the EP x Staples chinos? I'm really digging it as it's perfect for my smartphone. I wish I had more pants with this pocket.

You know, I was just talking about that. I actually like that pocket quite a bit too. We may very well run that as a special variant for the early Fall, maybe with another tweak or two.

Yeah, my normal size is 29 - with the Staple chinos running slim, 30 sounds about right. A damn shame, that $85 price tag is so tempting haha.

3rd pair of Epaulet pants in 3 weeks! I hope the gunmetal chinos look as good as they do in the picture!

I saw that, thank you so much!

any red rivets incoming?

Yes, although I'm not sure whether the red color will be a chino or a cotton walt. We definitely have that covered though. I love me some red trousers.

Lots of good product going online this week too!

Grabbed the olive chinos without hesitation.
