Thanks FC, I'd say its a little of both. F tends to lean towards a more solid shoulder, but he really builds around the customer. Since my shoulders are so broad and solid he uses little to no padding. Check out the Ercoles thread in MC, lots of examples of his work there...

Also, how do these fit for somebody with semi narrow 10.5s and a very skinny ankle?

Epaulet x Alden chromexcel longwings were my first expensive pair of shoes. Those were then followed by cigar longwings and, more recently, Epaulet x Alden natural Indy. I'm also receiving navy suede longwings from Leffot soon (fell in love with them at once when I saw Rob's pics in this thread last year). This is absolutely not a big collection by local standards, but it's certainly a huge amount to spend for me personally. However, I haven't regretted it once. And it all began with an Epaulet makeup

Also, Mike, thanks for keeping me warm this winter (no homo). Those heavyweight twill chinos have been doing their job perfectly. I also took your advice and got me a pair of waterproof bean boots with Obenauf's. Add some Smartwool socks to the equation, and this is officially my most comfy and warm winter of all

Heck, I envy you - though we both live in the same region of Europe, which obviously is the poor part of the continent, it seems you are doing pretty good - a whole lot better than most people in the area I daresay :-). To top it off, Belarus has to cope with the rule of "Europe's last dictator" Lukashenko, what I suppose makes things a lot worse for Belarussians. I wouldn't be able to afford Aldens... even anything from Shoemart irregulars list would be a HUGE expense for me. I need to get a pair from them as soon as I somehow improve my income (I have something cooking, but better not jinx it).
Secondly, this is yet another winter that my butt is freezing, doh

The Forest last is very much a true medium. If you can get away with medium shoes in most brands, then you should be good to go on this style. Many of guys who need a narrow in the Alden Barrie/Tru-Balance actually find that the regular Forest fits perfI'd stay away from the bal boots though, as they can't be laced as tightly at the top. You can pull the bluchers in much more.Quote:
Yup, no problemo. Just don't linger too long on a specific spot.
And if it's not TOO wrinkled, then try hanging it in the bathroom and taking a hot shower. That works surprisingly well.post #17902 of 207511/20/13 at 1:21pmpost #17903 of 207511/20/13 at 1:53pm- Posts: 7,867

And a quick cross-post from the Carmina thread....
Python Bal Preorder!
Navy Python Captoe Bal Special Order Deposit
Preorder is officially online. Apologies that I couldn't do a mockup, it's tough to work with the base image when it's a black shoe. This will be on the Queens last, so it's essentially the same shape as the Ruby Shell punched bal, Same sole and same edge trim. These are going to be so ace!post #17906 of 207511/20/13 at 2:42pm- Posts: 7,867

I hate you for these. I swore I'd buy nothing more. This may be a birthday present to myself. Can you get more picture of a navy python? Also what is there to know about a shoe made of python? How comfortable/durable is it?

The small strip is the only official swatch that I have. Carmina has never done production in that color (at least recently), so nothing else was available to shoot. But, I found this skin online and modified the color a bit to give you an idea of how the scales will look fully made up:
