^Thanks wj4. IMO the Ruby is not true red. It's a dusky hue and not that loud for being a shoe that definitely does have a lot of red in it. I'd try to take another photo, but I don't think my indoor lighting produces true color and I'm not talented enough to correct for it. And NYI has been posting photos of Ruby worn with a great deal of panache, so we have that as a reference.

I'm pretty much positive that you would wear well and enjoy shoes in this shade. It really is something different. Whether you NEED them is another question. smile.gif

I love the horizontal cords, Frank. Do yours feel smaller than other Walts? Mine are noticeably slimmer than all of my others.

Thanks. I really do like these myself.

They are my first cotton Walt purchase and I went with 34, which turns out to be a little on the slim side for taste. After two other Walts in 34, I've since sized up to 36 in both cotton Walts and Rivet Chinos and I let a few cycles of washing and drying shrink them to fit. shog[1].gif Ha ha ha.

I did that with this pair and as a result I just had the seat taken out a little to account for too much shrinking. I really like how they fit now, thought they are truly slim to my eye. That being said, I'm not sure if I notice a difference in the fit compared to the other two 34 cotton Walts I have. I enjoy both of those too (butterscotch canvas and those racing green numbers from last spring).

i know it was asked a few pages back, but never answered. how difficult is it to remove the darts from epaulet shirts? i think the shirts are perfect, but to me, darts are the quickest way to turn a shirt into a blouse. makes me feel like i'm borrowing my girlfriend's clothes. i would just go with the blue label shirts but i don't care for the under collar contrast lining.

I've had it done on a few, works out fine.

I'm sure I will like the Ruby's. It was a gift to myself since I had to stay in last night to haul butt on finishing a project. Will spend a good portion of today on it as well.

Pythons today:
