Looks like my olive overshirt and plum herringbone may be going back to Epaulet... Seriously guys, I can't fucking stand UPS, can I request USPS every time I order from now on?

Trying to distract myself with less meaningful things in the grand scheme, do you have any plans for a make up of the Steinbeck Shortwing Boot with that combination Dainite sole in Caramel Calf skin colorway? That right there would be my ideal and grail (if I can use that word loosely) boot at the moment. That boot is insane, but I prefer lighter brown colorways.

Hmm, I don't have that on the immediate horizon, but that's a pretty good idea!

Ah man, sorry to hear that! Yes, we can definitely ship you out USPS from here on in. Their service isn't flawless either, but depending where you live, I know that one can be much easier than the other. Drop me an email if there's anything that we can do about the box that's coming back now.

Yes, we'll bring those back in the early Spring - around Feb or so.

Epaulet Store Update Thursday

Hey guys, here's a quick update from us on store operations:

1. Brooklyn store is open our usual hours, Manhattan store is closed until power is restored in Lower Manhattan. If you want to speak to us on the phone, please only call the Brooklyn store.

2. We had a large UPS pickup yesterday, and handed off about 25 boxes. For the next few days, we'll look to send the majority of our incoming orders via UPS Ground, as they're back in full force.

3. USPS is an issue. Both our BK and Manhattan post offices are closed (BK due to flooding and Manhattan due to no power), so pickups have been suspended. I'm going to tackle this in two ways over the next few days:
* We'll ship UPS as much as possible
* Small USPS orders will be packed into Tyvek envelopes, without the boxes that we typically use. I'm going to drive a few neighborhoods over and put those into mailboxes after hours tonight

One thing that I can't avoid delays on is International USPS orders. I don't have a way to physically ship them at the moment, so they'll most likely go out on Monday or Tuesday - whenever our pickup service is resumed. We don't have a huge amount of them at the moment, but just so anyone outside of the US is aware of the delay.

4. We've been able to ship most of the incoming orders from our Brooklyn stock. However, I can't ship anything where the actual item is stored in our Manhattan store. It's too crazy to drive into the city at the moment (you need a 3-person car pool, traffic is bonkers), but if there's no promise of power on the horizon, then I'll drive in on Saturday morning to pick up whatever items are due to ship out.

Thanks again for bearing with us!

if it's not too late to weigh in on the favorite epaulet purchase, i think the new copper flannel wins for me. it's just an absolutely perfect fall shirt. i'll definitely pick up the plum is there's a restock in a large. and if there ever was to be an addition in something like a deep burgundy...

Lovat Moleskins. I'm thinking about moving to a climate where I can wear moleskin and corduroy year round.

How are you cleaning the moleskins? Cold wash and hang dry or dry clean?

They look great, by the way. And sharp shoes too.

I have those same lovat moleskin trousers and have been waiting for San Francisco's weather to cool down enough for me to wear them. Right after they arrived we had our usual fall heat wave, but it's starting to cool back down a little bit now. What temperature range have you been wearing them in?

Nice combo! I just picked up my Lovat Moleskin Walts from the tailor yesterday. Can't wait to put them to use within the next few days. I got a pair of tan moleskin Walt last year and they were some of the best pants for MN winter.

Thanks! I've just been doing a cold wash/hang dry. I have a pair from last fall that have held up really well with the same treatment.

It was 55 by afternoon, and I was perfectly comfortable. I wouldn't want to go much above 60 degrees, I think.

Thanks! It's really a great fabric.
