Hurricane Sandy

Hey guys,

Just a heads-up. I'm sure that you're all aware of the hurricane here. We should be fine, but it's possible that our Manhattan store might have to remain closed until the end of the week. Everyone who received shipping confirmations over the weekend have their boxes still at our Manhattan store. They have not been picked up by UPS. And they won't be until UPS resumes service in lower Manhattan, which could be Thursday/Friday. If you have a tracking number and it's not updating, then it has not been picked up. I'll post a note here when the boxes physically go out. My apologies for the delay.

Here's a few crazy photos. Our apartment is about half a block up the hill from Brooklyn's famous Gowanus Canal. It broke its banks a few hours ago and totally flooded our street. So far it seems to be holding steady, but it made for some dramatic photos:

I believe if you drink that stuff, it has the same effect as chemotherapy.

Trees down ALL OVER here...you should be good on Smith and where you guys are, hope Orchard St stays dry. Hang tough.

This is across the street from our place:

Whoa that's nuts! I've never been so grateful to live on a block with no trees.

Here's some more shots from our hood:

Just got the red/blue/cream flannel in today and damn...it is absolutely gorgeous and mind-blowingly soft. Yep, definitely going to wear the shit out of this one.

Man, if I was out there with you guys, I'd be out dancing in the rain in my wife beater like I'm Usher. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Stay safe!

Stay safe!

This is officially the most hilarious quote of 2012. Bravo!

Meanwhile, on the West Coast, there's still enough summer left to air out my pink Walts.

Loving the pictures, Morgan! The first one would make a killer black/white picture I think.

Key to surviving Sandy, Epaulet Gear. Pre-storm was my 10 oz duck rivets, during was my fair isle shirt, after and much needed when the cold rain started pelting, my new Spiewak (this thing is the real deal):

Glad yall made it through ok. Hurricane pro-tip: don't spend too much time in that floodwater. Yall probably don't have to worry about the snakes and even occasional gator we do post-hurricane, but the assorted sharp shit can really suck. Also, electrocuting yourself in flood water after a live wire drops in (probably not an issue with the lack of power up there) is a crappy way to go. Good luck with the recovery.
