Looks great! Finally pulled the trigger on these the other night. Can't wait!

Surreptitious shots out and about. I'm not as bold with my photo taking as I might be. All you are missing is a waxed cotton jacket in need of re-waxing. smile.gif

Would it be possible to shorten the sleeves of the Eisenhower? I have no experience with altering outerwear.

Hi, all --

I've got a brand-spanking-new Epaulet single-prong dark brown Chromexcel belt that is, very sadly, just a touch too small for me.

(Belt was first mentioned here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/111211/epaulet-shop-official-affiliate-thread/6840#post_4787593)

The one I've got is size 30, and I can't get a 32 since they've stopped making them, at least for now!  In any event, I'd like to ensure that this belt finds its way into the hands of someone who could actually use it, as it's a pretty stunning piece of leather:

Hand-sewn at home in the USA.  Please let me know if you're interested!  This belt deserves a good home.  I'll ship it anywhere for free, and I'm asking $75 for the belt.

The fabric is so soft that when you wear them it almost feels like flannel.

Thanks for the help. I think these are going to work well for me. As you noted, the green tone is quite dark. Indeed, I struggle to really even see it, at least on my monitor.

That particular jacket is a J Crew release from '07. Someone mentioned Harris Tweed, and that is a very good suggestion, since you will find a lot of leads on the web. But this particular jacket is made of Yorkshire Tweed from Moon. You might be able to find one on ebay. It's not as slim as I'd like, but overall a decent tweed jacket.

So, Matt and I happened to wear nearly the same outfit today to work. I promise that we didn't plan this out ahead of time:

Epaulet Veneto Jacket (size 36)
Epaulet Cutaway Collar Popover Oxford
The infamous long-lost Walt Corduroy Tweed
Alden Sand Chukkas

Epaulet Veneto Jacket (size 42)
Ashland Purple Satin Tie
Epaulet Navy Gingham Cutaway Collar shirt
The infamous long-lost Walt Corduroy Tweed
Vass Shortwings

Damn, the Veneto looks great on both you guys. Matt, did you get a haircut? Looks great with it shorter on the sides like that. Also what's the sweater you've got on underneath?

Thanks dude! I chopped the mane off on Monday, thank goodness. And the sweater is a vintage tennis sweater from the early 50s.

Thanks.

Yeah, I know you can find vintage Harris Tweed jackets out there but finding ones in good shape, contain a modern cut and the color I am looking for is a challenge.

Dang. 30 degrees Fahrenheit in NY already? We're still in shorts until Halloween!

Don't I know it. I have a peacoat that I more than likely won't wear until the end of November. Maybe.
