Montauk Fit Photos

We took our Summer Staff retreat in Montauk, Long Island earlier this week. It was a great time with killer weather, great waves, and enough food to kill a small horse.

Got a few photos of Epaulet gear as well:

Dylan in the Mint Chambray Shirt, Matt in the Long Sleeve Cutaway Oxford Popover

Dylan in the blue OCBD, Tan Chromexcel Belt, and Natural Irish Linen Trousers.

Me in the Bordeaux Luchino Polo (Linen jacket from Vienna on top)

They sure are, along with a restock of our Grey Wool/Cashmere dress pant. I won't have the tweeds shot and online until next week, but any NYC folks are welcome to come through and check them out. They'll be on the floor.

The Steinbeck seems to be online now, and it looks great! What other colours do you think you'll be running it in?

New Carmina for Epaulet Styles

Hey guys,

We just received two exclusive Carmina styles into the shop. We are IN LOVE with them!

Back in January at Pitti, I sat down with Betty & Antonio to plan out how we can introduce Horween Chromexcel into our co-branded line. I'm sure that you guys know this leather well, and I'm a huge fan of it. Although most of Carmina's business is in elegant dress shoes, I thought that it would be cool to take their production capabilities in a beefy, casual direction as well. The result is a tough-as-nails style that retains its refined shapes and really stands out from the pack. I'm thrilled with how they came out:

Carmina for Epaulet Faulkner Shortwing in Natural Chromexcel: $525

Carmina for Epaulet Steinbeck Wingtip boot in Brown Chromexcel: $595

oh my, that Faulkner is awesome...I've been looking for some sort of nice oxford with a rubber sole, this one is pretty perfect. Just wish I knew my sizing...I've gone 11 and 11.5 in Barrie and Trubalance, depending upon the shoe. Not sure if I should go 10.5 or 11 in Carmina.

Yeah both pairs look awesome. Need my job to start so I can get some funds...how many pairs of each do you have Mike?

Good lord, these are incredible. How much more "substantial" is the Faulkner vs. the Fitzgerald? Based on the pics, it seems like the overall profile is fairly similar.

Hmm. I'd say a 10.5UK in them. Is your sizing variance in Barrie/Trubalance also due to sizing differences between Calf & Shell? Often times shell Alden styles make up considerably bigger. But I think that 10.5 is a pretty safe bet, while 11UK would have a very good chance of being too large.

Plus, you'll love the fit and the arch support of the Forest last. It's phenomenal!

Oh, it's the same exact last and upper shape.

The differences are:
1. Storm welt & leather/rubber York sole on the Faulkner vs flat welt and leather sole on the Fitzgerald. The Faulkner sole is thicker in both presence and materials.
2. Metal eyes on the Faulkner vs blind eyes on the Fitzgerald
3. Thick Horween Chromexcel on the Faulkner vs Annonay Calfskin on the Fitzgerald.

As a side note, these are GREAT styles for anyone living in a rainy area. Although not waterproof per se, Chromexcel is quite water resistant and the York sole will get you good traction in the rain and resist degrading in lousy weather.
