How long does it usually take from the order is placed to when they ship? Ordered a pants six days ago, and haven't gotten a shipping notice, just an order confirmation.
^ you will only get an email with a tracking # if you paid using Paypal. But they are usually really fast with shipping stuff out so you should get it soon. If you're really anxious, you could PM Mike or Matt with your order # and they can give you a tracking #.

Hey guys!

Sorry that I was MIA for a few days. Here's everything from our side:

Yes, it's pretty similar to the Grey Cav Twill that we ran a little while ago. That was wool too. The current ones don't have a lot of sheen, but those twill lines are pretty strong, so you'll definitely see them up close. It's part of the personality of that cloth.

I'm in the process of building my work wardrobe, what would be some good pieces to start off with?
Any word on the next run of Aldens would be?
Are you planning on bringing back the SFxEpaulet collaboration shirts?
Anddd for the factory find fabrics would me card get charged when it ships? (need to make sure I don't over extend myself haha).

For a work wardrobe, our most popular items are:

1. Super 120s trousers in Navy or Grey
2. Walt Regiment Twills in Navy, Khaki, and Moss
3. Blue Oxford cloth buttondown shirt. Any of our gingham or micro-gingham shirts.
4. Caine Navy Hopsack sportcoat
5. Carmina Fitzgerald Shortwings or Salinger Double Monks

The brilliant part about all of this is that - outside of the dress pants - it's entirely possible to wear these things casually. The Caine can be paired with jeans, the carminas could be worn with chinos, the shirts can be worn untucked and casually. For anyone building a wardrobe, I believe that it's crucial to get quality pieces that are versatile to wear both to work and outside of it.

Aldens should come this Fall. No idea on an actual date, but I always announce them on this thread at least 24 hours before they're announced anywhere else.

Factory finds are charged up front before production. Sorry, we just don't have the programming to move that charge out. But we'll certainly do another run of them in four weeks if you need to put them into a later budget.

And hmmm, it would be cool to do another SF x Epaulet shirt collab. We're running a bunch of Carmina styles at the moment, but we have a lot of possibilities for production. Maybe a special edition Rivet Chino could be even better.....

They have been haunting my dreams! It's a popular style - we already passed the minimum to put them into work a few days ago.

Is the tweed also more contrasty in the picture the same way as the chessboard or do you feel that still is a good representation of the fabric? I think I'm leaning a bit more towards that one, but have some reservations that it may be less versatile than the taupe if it is overtly contrasty. And how would you compare the weights of those two?

Thanks.

The Coffee Tweed is pretty awesome. The contrast is going to be really subtle - you won't see that structure unless you're looking up close. Weight-wise, they're pretty similar, and they're both versatile colors.

Coffee Tweed is definitely more popular and will make up as a more interesting trouser IMO. But if you have a lot of tweed jackets and/or vests, you'd probably want the Taupe Flannel so as not to wear two unmatched tweed pieces.

Ah sorry, we're tapped out of Leaf for the season, but we'll bring in a few new Duck Canvas colors for the Fall. Our big chino delivery will be in early-mid September.

Yup, we're getting a few more Saddle units with our next delivery in a week or two. I think around 10 units.

Should be soon. We lost some time due to the factory's Summer holidays, but I imagine that we'll have them within the next week or week & a half.

Loving the special order trousers in all those fabrics, picked up a few pairs of those as well.

Thank you!

Snuff Double Monks should be here in a week to 10 days. Burgundy Shell Double Monks will get restocked around 10/15

Walts will be soon - within the next four weeks. I'd say about 6 weeks for the Wellers. If you need one faster than that, we can do a special order for you and have it in less than four.

If it's the Thorogood 685 boot, then I'd recommend a 6.5UK in Carmina. Everyone has different preferences on fit, but I'd say that most of my customers would drop a full size from the Thorogood 685 last.

OH YES! This shall be revealed in the next week.

All of the special order swatches look real nice, Mike. It's hard for me to keep resisting.

Also, wool rivets will be a very nice thing icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif What's the ETA on those if you have one roughly?

cross post from the carmina shoe p0rn thread:

i just received my fitzgerald in cognac shell and i have a brogue captoe in saddle shell. here's a quick comparison of the two shell colors:

i think saddle is fine to wear year-round. winters are pretty mild in the bay area, so i'll probably still wear them occasionally (although i tend to wear boots more often in the winter). saddle is a little darker than whiskey and it will darken over time.

that said, cognac is also a beautiful color and will be generally more versatile. you might consider getting the fitzgerald in cognac and a double monk or wingtip boot in saddle. biggrin.gif

6.5UK isn't a size you typically stock, right?

<3 Epaulet.

Quick question, Rudy is the slimmest right? Should I order the same size as my RIvet Chinos?

How about these? (your size is in stock)

How would you compare the rudy fit to the Brooks Brothers Milano fit (their slimmest fit)?

Awesome, these look great!

And I totally agree with your assessment. Although Saddle/Whiskey is generally more of a Spring color, guys can and do wear it in the winter. Especially after it darkens a bit. I wouldn't hesitate to wear my Saddle Double Monks with a pair of Navy Flannel trousers in December. Ultimately, it's still a classic, easy to wear color.

No it isn't, we usually just go down to 7UK. But we can either tack you onto an upcoming order, or you can try out one of our Epaulet x Carmina Styleforum MTO projects. Right now we've got the Midnight Jodphur boot up for order, but they'll be plenty more.

Check out the Wolverine 1000 mile boot in Brown Chromexcel. It's a GREAT boot. Fit is phenomenal, quality is good, price is IMO very fair. They age nicely and they hold up to wear. They're ace with denim or casual trousers, but I've also seen them dressed up very nicely with tweed or flannel suits. If you're a true size 12, then you'd want to try an 11.5. We're busted up in stock at the moment, but we'll fully restock around early September.

If these fit you (they may be slightly big as the Barrie last runs large), I would jump on these.

That would be a huge improvement on your shoe game.

The 1K is one of the other options I'm looking at - how does it fit relative to the 685 size 7.5?
