I couldn't be happier with the result. It's a far more versatile option than the navy super 120s suit - especially if you don't wear suits every day.
You've then got yourself a very nice SC, and a beautiful navy suit too when you want it (and the texture, again, makes it a bit more interesting your average navy suit). I've also bought some EP Oxfords as a second pair of trousers to wear with the jacket - and, blowing my own horn a bit, but I think they look great with it. Get yourself some khakis and you've got California Tuxedo sorted as well.
One thing I will also say about the hopsack is that it is very very light and breathable compared to your average Super 120, meaning that you will comfortably be able to wear the suit in summer.
I really think anyone who gets the Caine SC should definitely shell out the extra for the pants as well...

i want to see pics of this hopsack suit.

Third-ed. About to pull the trigger on a Caine. This would make me squeeze even harder when I do.

Forthed (huh?) - I have the Caine would love to see some pics (profile and detailed of the fabric) if it is not too much trouble.

This hasn't happened yet, right? (Or did I miss it because of the glazed-sandwich coma?)

i'm guessing mike's been inundated of late and still hasn't got around to it yet.

Hah OK I have a pretty terrible camera and there's not much light in the mornings in Australia at the moment but I'll do my best... Might have to be over the weekend.

That would be great, thanks! I know there are probably many of us that would appreciate it.

Looking for some advice here --

How do you fellas feel about the Carmina (brown calfskin) shoes being paried with a dark navy suit? The Carmina shoes seem like a lighter shade of brown, and I've heard that if I'm looking to wear brown shoes with a navy suit, the shoes would be at least as dark as the suit. Would they be alright for interviews, and in a conservative setting (bank)?

I know the brown versus black issue gets debated to no end, but I'm curious to hear some thoughts from the Epaulet crowd.

I tried on the Carmina dark brown double-monks at the store in Manhattan and they were a really nice medium-dark shade of brown. They weren't sitting in the window absorbing sunlight, so that's the true color. I'd say the websites pictures are accurate and they would pair nicely with a navy suit. Not too light in my opinion.
