What size do you guy's recommend in Rudy trousers for someone with a slim 31" waist, but pretty big hips and thighs? I really want to order the brown houndstooth trousers, but they only have a 30 which I’m afraid might be too small, and they’re non-returnable. For reference a 32 in Howard Yount trousers is loose in the waist, but a little tight through the seat and upper thigh.

If Howard Yount in 32 is tight in the seat and thigh, then a 30 in the Rudy will almost certainly be too tight. There are allowances to get them taken out though, so you may be able to have them altered to fit.

I was wondering, does anybody (Mike especially) happen to know what the jacket waist measurement is on the Weller Jackets?. I'm looking to put together a professional suit and am trying to compare epaulet measurements with some of the other options out there.

I know that a jacket's waist can be altered but I've been told that this can be a tricky proposition because it will shift the placement of the back vents on a double-vented jacket.

Thanks!

I'll measure mine when I get home but that'll only tell you what it is on a size 34 (which I'm guessing probably doesn't help most people). For now I can tell you certainly not to worry about altering a jacket in the waist; this is fairly standard and any good tailor will be able to adjust the vents as well if necessary.

One of you smalls need to grab that Our Legacy Jungle shirt. I planned to grab the large even before the latest markdown, but blew too much cash on Razele's wardrobe purging. At $98, that thing is too absurd not to own.

Ashland pink gingham shirt (an ultimate suit shirt)
Vanda silk tweed houndstooth tie
Vanda cobalt blue paisley square
Epaulet x Alden ravello shell Brixton boots

Looking great! I just heard from the trouser dudes that we're clear out of that fabric, so it was good timing to grab the suit while the grabbing was good.

Not too soon, but we should have a full restock around mid-August or so. Just in time for Fall.

Epaulet stuff always seems better in person than on the site:slayer:

Fantastic - thanks for picking them up and glad that you're pleased with the trousers!

In other news, I'm in for a serious Epaulet delivery in the matter of hours. Koi shirt (robokopped when suddenly one of my size appeared online, no idea where it came fromicon_gu_b_slayer%5B1%5D.gif), Italia red gingham, grey oxford chinos, leaf ducks, caramel & french blue 7oz. Aaaand finally, my first Aldens, the natural chromexcel LWBs. God I'm so stoked. But I guess you all know that feeling lol happy.gif

Thanks for picking up all that gear - it sounds like a great haul! And this submission gets major props just for your Yahoo Serious hair

I'm thinking that you'd need a 32 in the Rudy, and then you'd potentially take the waist in a little bit. From what I've heard our Rudy cut is a bit larger in the thighs & seat than Howard Yount's standard fit, so that might be spot on for you there.

HAND-DRAWN ILLUSTRATORS?

Hey guys,

Any of you out there good at hand-drawn illustrations? Something black and white that could be printed on a t-shirt? Along these lines:

If so, drop me a PM - we've got a little project in the works. Some samples of your work would be great. We'd love to hire a thread subscriber to do it.

Welcome to the club! fistbump.gif

A couple of shots from today (including almost-but-not-quite NYR-style one):

Good lord, everything in here is so damn good. Natty's look really fine IRL, can't wait to see them age and get even cooler. Also, they seem to fit to pretty much 95% of my wardrobe, which is rather casual for now as you might guess biggrin.gif. And now that I know what size I should take, this is all getting too dangerous...

It was meant to be. I came back to the office to see Mike's post about the sale. Had to get a Liberty shirt.

Which one did you get? I'm itching to grab something without a vague idea of how to mix it in nod[1].gif

Can't be too picky for the price. There's a couple of them for 105, though.
