I would generally describe the shoe as substantial but definitely refined. I could easily wear them with a khaki summer suit and then jeans in the fall. Carmina lasts strike me as really versatile and could easily be dressed up or down.

And you are right, I sized down from a 10.5D US (Alden Plaza, TTS, etc) to 9.5 in the Carminas. But it may differ for you depending on your feet.

I'd say that CHRK33 is correct. My thoughts are that the Forest last is a refined shape. It does have a high, rounded toe, but to me it remains elegant. I have found that it is not a particularly wide last, at least not for someone who is an E width.

I would imagine this is true for many of us. Between Epaulet and FSC, my closet is overflowing.

Will the J. Lo crotch-wrap oxford chinos be restocked? They better be, and hopefully in time for my NYC visit at the end of this month.

I recently bought the Weller/Walt navy suit and would like some fit feedback. There are two small issues that bug me.

Sleeve length - it seems a little short here, maybe only by 1/2" ?


Chest fit - fits pretty well at a relaxed position. However when I move my shoulders back at all the lapel will pooch out a tad.


Is this pooching common or indicative of too much fabric in the chest? Is there a simple alteration to address?

Your shirt sleeves are just too long.

 

I would agree that the sleeve length is just a little bit short.  All of my jackets have the sleeves too long, so it's strange to me to see them too short.  Pretty sure there's probably enough fabric to let just a little out.  As far as the chest goes, I'd assume any halfway decent tailor can tell you what's wrong with it, as well as make the necessary corrections.  Good luck!

The special run of Snuff Austerity Brogues did, but typically they don't.

We have Epaulet shoe trees (cedar, made in the USA by Woodlore) for $24.

And I will have Carmina shoe trees here with our next delivery in early July. They're amazing trees, but due to their weight and import taxes on wooden items, I think that they're going to be around $100-$110 retail when we get them.

I have customers who do this all of the time - it's absolutely no problem. Any tailor that can do a hem can also let these out for you.

The jacket looks like a great fit on you! Agreed on the sleeve length, it can probably come out by 0.5 to 0.75." We have some guys who wear their jacket sleeves that high, but most would want them a bit longer. It's an easy alteration, and about a full inch can be let out.

In regards to the chest, I'll usually judge the fit based on the relaxed stance. It looks great on you there. The "pooching" is actually coming from the slim shape of the jacket. It's snug at the chest and armholes so pulling your arms back, raising them up, reaching them out is probably going to cause that slight fold in the lapel. It's normal for a slim jacket like this. If you're wearing it close to your body (like most of our customers do), then the lapel is going to follow your movements. If it was doing that when you're holding your arms to your side, then I would suggest having the upper back seam let out a touch. But I think that it's fine as is, and it looks sharp!

Funny thing, can't find my name on the list... guess I was overlooked once again - perhaps I ought to write longer messages, so they're more visible :-). I presume I'll just have to make due with Epaulet's policy on international orders.

Should anyone review my post on previous page, I'd be grateful for advices concerning sizing. I still am after Thorogood 685 though am not sure what size would best fit me. I'd be mad if the size of these was wrong after I paid customs duties, so feedback from Thorogood 685 wearers would be much appreciated.

Received the desert ducks yesterday figured I'd post a quick pic. I'm looking forward to how these will break in over time.

I think the high turnover of this thread makes it difficult sometimes for Mike & Matt respond to every single question--also, (IMO) it's generally easier to get a response from any business when you contact them directly, be it by phone, email, or carrier pigeon.
