You and edubs should hang out.

Seriously -- as others have said the Walts are just about the easiest trousers to alter you can find. Tailors and dry cleaners love working with them. Most dry cleaners will hem pants for you, and they're also easy to alter in the waist if you gain or lose a lot of weight.

How did I get thrown in the mix here?

Nothing's wrong with 29'' inseam pants. I'm 5'10'' and my inseams range from 29'' to 31''. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Hi guys, I got my first pair of Epaulet trousers, it's the slim walt in Irish linen I got new of B&S. It's a 30 that I got taken out another inch or so and got it hemmed.

Can you guys critique the fit? I have to say it's the best freaking trousers I've ever had on. For future purposes I've been considering more from Epaulet or from Howard Yount (it's a little more affordable, but I've never tried them on). The HY ones have a 10.x inch rise, while this one is 12.5.

So my question is, do you think the rise on this is flattering for my body type? Would the HY be too low? I hope it's not bad manners to ask about that here, but I'm really split between HY and Epaulet.

Here's what it looks like:

Looks fine. A lower rise would look like jeans. These are meant to be trousers. Check Epaulets chinos for lower rise.

this looks good.

Just got my pair of rivet chino's in stone canvas.  Not sure how I feel about these things.  They fit good but came out of the first wash looking like hell.  The white seam tape shrunk more than anything else puckering the side seam all the way down and making the legs curved, weird I say.

^ did you throw it in the dryer?

sounds normal to me, what is the big deal?

I did, on the lowest setting, pulling them out when still wet.  Just wanted to get rid of the shine and stiffness.  They do seem to say you can dry them on low right on the tag.

I will add the crotch seem needs to be felled, I don't know how they thought that was good idea.
