it's pretty British here in LA even.

Damn, even LA huh? I've been listening to The Jam lately as well...maybe I need to switch up the playlists on my ipod. Get some reggae going to grab the sun.

Keith, allow me to state the obvious; if you can find someone to take care of your kids, GO!
While flying biz class and staying in ritzy hotels is nice, they are totally unnecessary for trips to Europe. Scour tripadvisor for a place that is clean and quiet, shop for airfare deals and be gone!
You will not regret it.

Mike,
Remember, the more south you go in Italy, the warmer the hearts of the people wink.gif (just watch your wallet!)
Forza Calabria!

Enjoy the honeymoon!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes! We're having an awesome time here, and I have to say, the weather is absolutely perfect.

The nightlife here is really great too. I've actually been coming to Rome pretty regularly for the past 10 years or so, and I always had a tough time getting into the bar scene. There's a lot of banging electronic music and over-sugared cocktails that I couldn't roll with. But I've visited two new-ish places which (1) serve cocktails and (2) play American rap from the late 90's. These are pretty much my two checkmarks for an awesome, world-class bar, and Rome officially has at least two of them.

On the rivet chinos, I'm a 99% jeans chap so this is all new to me and will take some time getting used to. I'm pleasantly surprised by how casual they are - see GBear's fit - and think they look better with trainers, moccs, boat shoes etc than leather soled shoes.
Oh and I got the Armor Lux x Beams top for my better half - smart move, she loves it and I'm in the good books.
Enjoy la bella Roma Mike, one of my favourite cities.

Thank you, and glad that she digs the Armor Lux shirt and that we got the sizing right! I'm so excited for the polos that I can't tell you. Mediocre polos are a dime a dozen in the States, but finding a really good one is extremely difficult. A lot of guys consider polos to be strictly cheap and casual, or something that you wear at Best Buy. And better polos, from the likes of Fred Perry or Ralph Lauren, tend to have obvious branding which makes them difficult to dress up.

I used to sell great mercerized cotton polos at Saks, but the cut was huge on them and the fabric was shiny. I've personally been looking for a phenomenal, Italian-made polo that can be worn dressed up or down for years, and couldn't find one. This piece is going to really fill that niche, in the same way that our trousers, shirts, and sport coats fill their respective categories. We should get the first delivery around late May.

If it happens you come to Umbria (close to Rome), maybe to visit Cascate delle Marmore (Marmore Falls), i'll be happy to meet you and have a nice time together! But I know there is so much things to do and see in Rome that six months could not be enough...
So enjoy Rome and Italy and please forgive some little awkward things that can happen in my country!

PS: Hope you are here to start your next shop "Epaulet in Rome".. so italians can buy epaulet's garments ...... just kidding biggrin.gif

Thank you! I LOVE your hometown. We're a little pressed for time on this trip, but I may take you up on that Umbria invite next time. Thanks!

Navy polos, eh. Make a garnet- or maroon- or burgundy-colored polo!

2nd! Subtle, heathered earthy colors rule.

Please offer a cutaway collar like Brooks Brothers and Kent Wang. It's such a nice touch.

What can you wear this with? I've just got a linen black uniqlo shirt that seems to work pretty well, but I don't know what else I could pair this with.

Not the best pics, but here are a couple ideas:

It's true that my folks would love to spend some extra alone time with our kids. I'll put a bug in the wife's ear about it. Thanks, T!

Might be a very stupid question on sizing...

I have a purple gingham flannel that I bought in size small. It's my all time favorite shirt but a bit tight in the chest yet perfect in every other measurement really.
Wanted to purchase a white ocbd from you guys for casual wear untucked. Would it be best to just go with medium? Seems most of the other measurements are only .5 inch bigger while the chest is an inch so that might be perfect?

If the small is just a bit too tight across the chest and the medium looks like it would be a good fit all the way around, I'd go with a medium. We have some guys that can wear either/or (myself being one of them). The sleeves on the medium may be a little long if the small sleeve is perfect for you, but everything else should be alright.
