So I got myself a blazer for a really good price, it was 70% off, only downside was it was 1 size to big.
I usually wear something between 44-46 (European sizes) and this one is 48.
So is is possible for a tailor to alter it down one whole size? Atm it fits good around the sholders and neck. So the problems I have with it now:
Its to big arond the chest
A tad bit to long in the arms
The the arms sleeves are a little bit wide for my skinny arms
And I would like to have the armpits raised a bit.
Would this cost a lot? Is it maybe better to sell it or to have it altered?

Taking in a blazer a bit or shortening it is pretty easy to do as long as the build is good. When you get into narrowing the arms and raising armpits, that's going to be more of a pain. For one, if you narrow the arms, you'll need to find some fabric around the sides to account for the new arm hole size. Before long you're basically building a new blazer!

I received a $500+ Marc Jacobs blazer from a friend for free and it didn't fit me. I have a 32-33 chest (XS) and I had it taken in from a S (36-38) and it looked great. Granted it did cost me $165 to have it tailored but considering it was a free blazer and I'm very small, it wasn't upset in the least bit. In fact it looks better than most blazers look on most people; I'm really just too small to go to a store and buy a blazer and have it fit right. In the end it was worth every dime. Even the shoulders look great.

It is doable b/c it fits your shoulders, which is key but as others mentioned, would always be a bit off even after extensive tailoring. Out of the adjustments you want, the relatively easy changes would be to bring in the chest and shorten the sleeves (assuming the button-holes are non-working).
It is much more involved to make the arms skinny, and typically very difficult to raise the arm-holes.
In my opinion, you should sell it and just buy one that fits properly b/c if it is a bit off, you will likely never wear it regularly if you have other options.

Seriously people should learn the way to buy.....
In the last two years, I have learnt I should only buy stuff when I need it
I have rarely brought anything on sales these days
SF members should stop their instincts on sales item, especially when they do not fit
OP, should have think twice isn't it?
