Church fans - does anyone have any Church shoes made from Betis calf?

The sales guy said it is the finest quality calf they use.  Is it much better than their usual calf? (ignore the bookbinder stuff)  Is it on par with C&J Handgrade calf?

I'm considering treating myself to some Betis...

Hi all,

New to this, but I just ventured into quality shoes and bought a couple of Church's shoes. Lamport, which they say is from Betis leather and a Toronto. Posted some pictures. Lamport is discontinued now and bought it for around £500 from Bicester. Your opinion is much appreciated on whether it is worth the price, etc.

I only buy Church's when on sale. The finishing could be better and be more refined. Channelled soles for example. Your shoes look good.

Thanks Thuhoan. Yes, I bought this from Bicester. From looking at various forums, Lamport retailed around £695 so I didn't pay the full price.

Hi EnglishShoes,

I bought a Lamport in Betis leather and I also bought a pair of Measham, which is their current range, in also black wingtip betis. Haven't worn it yet but not sure how they are going to wear. Time will tell!! Perhaps other members can advise us if they have any experience with betis.

Heads up - Church's have a UK retail sale on at the moment.  40% off many models.

Just got a couple of pairs of Lanarks (Great fit for me!!!)

I didn't get the Betis loafers - beautiful shoe, but the fit wasn't good.

In store, but they can post out of you ask nicely.

The Church website shows some sizes/colours as unavailable but they have more choice in store.

Great, thanks for letting me know English shoes. Yes, I found the fit of Betis' not that great. I have my eye on my Lanark too. Will let you know.

Hi English Shoes,

I spoke to the stores and confirmed they have a sale on. However, I looked at Church's website but there is no indication of any sale. Which website did you look at please?

Thanks

In store only.  Deal directly with them.

Firt post here.

I wonder if you could give me some advice concerning the sizing of Church’s Ryder Chukka boots as I am not sure, what size to get. In sneakers I wear normally size 7.5 (UK sizing), I also have some Chukka boots from Red Wing and some from Timberland in the same size (the confusing part is, that in some shoes I have, a UK 7.5 is size 41 in others it corresponds to size 41.5). I consider my feet as normally wide (F Medium fit). What size for the Church’s Ryder would you recommend?

Thank you in advance.

The Paris stores - as part of the seasonal 'soldes' - have 40% off and a great selection. In particular the Rue Saint Honore store had many different styles including the usual trendier ones they put out for sales but also some very traditional styles in brown and black.
