I can't wait for more Viggo taint.

Eastern Promises is one of my favorite contemporary movies. The rare genre piece that trancends without degenerating.

I like the sound of this.

Now if only Michael Mann would get around to making a sequel for Miami Vice, all would be well.

You know what he should do instead? A-Team. Word.

I thought it was a great premise and shitty execution.

nothing happened. the entire movie was like the first 20 minutes of any other movie. one action scene, like one decent dialogue exchange and then its over just when you get interested.

But then I recently re-watched "Heat" and didn't like it that much either.

I really enjoyed it. But am I big Cronenberg fan, so I'm probably not the most objective person on the subject.

I love it because it takes classic elements like the aging don, the inept son and gives them a nicely relevant, modern update. I also really enjoy Cronenberg's aesthetics, and to me he twos the the thin line between realism and romanticism really well.

The unpleasant elements like prostitution and murder are shown clearly and do not reflect well on the characters but there is still a hint of old world majesty about the crime family.

I loved it; one of the best London movies in years.

Heat did, for me anyways, settle the question of who is a better actor, DeNiro or Pacino.
