The condo is on the causeway (North Bay Village area), so I wouldn't have to fight traffic to get onto the causeway, which would be a plus. Here's a shot of the living room. The view beats the streets of Columbus.
Spanish isn't mandatory but it helps. Like the digs. How far is it from the Lehman and A1A?

Though I wouldn't live there (as mentioned previously) I wouldn't fault anyone for going, especially if you have a place like that listed above. Like new york, I believe it's only tolerable with money.

Nice place. I'm also looking to move to the Fort Laud/Miami area. Do you already have a job lined up there Suited? I've been doing a lot of searching, but have came up with very few leads. Do you or anyone else know of any particular places hiring now? I'm looking for full-time positions but willing to do part-time for awhile also.

Isn't that North of Sunny Isles? If so, by google maps, 20 min.

Miami has been hit hard. The rent at the place pictured is probably half what you think it is, maybe even a third. Not sure what you're estimating, but it's close to 2k.

2K? You're getting hosed. There are much better deals to be had out there even in the SI area. Lehman causeway connects Aventura to US1. Sunny Isles should be dead south of there.

Gotcha. Sunny Isles is nice as well. I've been looking at real estate there for a good 3 months. It's nearly impossible to get something over 1,000sq feet with great views, in a nice area for anything less than $1800 (taking into account a few other stipulations as well). That place I pictured is under 2k, and it includes everything (cable & internet) except electric. Marble floors, granite & stainless in the kitchen, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, balcony... hard to find all of that with a bay/ocean view for much less than 1800-2k a month.

With the glut of apartments you can haggle yourself a better deal. There are a ton of brand new practically empty apartment buildings just waiting for renters. Not saying the place you're looking at is bad but I've seen better deals out there for new building construction. Ocean view is a plus though.
