It's indicative of the forces tearing jacket and tie culture apart. Now here is a market of men who clearly want to wear these items but possess considerable anxiety with getting it wrong. In the meantime matters arent helped much by their being laughed at; which I am also guilty of.

I suppose they should be encouraged? I don't know why someone would want to wear a silk square in such a complex (and neatly set) fold.

Unacceptable. Part of the charm of the pocket square is the fact that it was folded itself by the gentleman wearing it, complete with any idiosyncrasies in the fold, in my opinion.
