APC Tight/cure Jeans - Page 3

Received the Rescues today. Crazy measurements on these things: Size: 31 Waist: 17.5 (I shit you not) Front rise: 11.5 Rear rise: 15.5 The Rescue is definitely a better model for me than the New Standards. But I actually think I may need to go down a size in these things. The waist (in spite of the measurement) seems a better fit for me than the New Standards, but it is still a bit too big. How tight should these really be at this stage in the game (totally raw and unworn)? When they're nicely broken in and washed a few times, will they have stretched out or will they have shrunk? Could I possibly need to go to a 30?

they will stretch... since they're sanforized they almost don't shrink at the waist when you wash them, so go down with the size.

I recently ordered (and sent back) a Rescue in size 32, and it had those exact same measurements. (One size too big for me.) Liked it in general, so I asked to exchange it for a 31. Now I'm scared. Hope they don't send me the exact same size as before. All the other Rescues I've read about here, though, seem exactly three sizes too big, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. BTW, I talked to APC and they recommended the exchange, as, supposedly, the only significant shrinkage will occure in the legs. We'll see....

Got the Rescues in size 30 in the mail today. I updated the measurement thread: Size: 31 Waist: 16.75 Front rise: 11.5 Rear rise: 15.5 These should finallyt work for me. One thing I've noticed is that the back pockets on these things feel like they're on the back of my thighs instead of my ass. A bit unusual, but not a deal killer.

The slightly dropped pockets are a deliberate design. Check out the Nudies fit guide. Most jeans are designed to fit that way, unless you are wearing them Cowboy tight and high, high rise.

I love lowered pockets, although I do think that the Nudie fit guide shows them being a little too low and loose. The sizing is rediculous on the rescues. The waist will definitely shrink after you've had them for 1.5 years or so and you've washed them a lot. They stretch out during periods of not washing, but over time will shrink on average.

Once it's time to wash these, how much should I expect them to shrink in terms of length? Assuming I'm washing in cold water and not throwing them into the dryer.
