How does this jacket fit?

There's a tailor nearby where I work and I decided to see how they were, so I dropped off a suit from H&M as a test run. Basically what she did was take in the back and sides to slim it down.

Some points before we start, there has always been some scrunching in the sleeves OTR. Also in terms of sleeve length the shirt in the photos is too long, when I wear my MTM shirts about an inch or so show. Totally slipped my mind when I was taking the photos.

It's not that horrible is it?

I like the fit...
It almost seems the shirt sleeves are top long instead of the jacket being to short

First off, it looks snazzy, and everyone around you's going to appreciate it.

On the other hand, the waist suppression might be too much. Look at how the back hikes up near the vents in the side view. Also, it feels like the shoulders might have been a bit wide to begin with, but not horribly so.

I must say that the job feels clean. No bunching or rippling in the back, like you'll often see with tailoring fits. Nevertheless, the excessive suppression is noticeable and a little off-putting. I'm not sure if it's too late to do something about that, others would be more knowledgeable.

But - like you said, it's not that horrible. Just the one thing, and you can only see even that from the side.

Must say, though - I like the lapels and the overall feel to the suit a lot. If you don't mind my asking, how much was it? If it's not going to make me much broker, I might go over to the store this weekend.

^+1 There is way to much waist suppression you can see this by how the vent kicks out. Also the overall length of the jacket is to short, which cannot be fixed.

You look like a girl: too much waist suppression.

I don't mind the waist suppression...

However, the jacket is a bit too short... I understand a lot of companies have been going this route the last couple seasons (who knew a short jacket could be cool?)

But I've never really understood it.

The sleeves are a very personal preference... Personally I'd go an eight to a quarter of an inch longer...

Either way, nice suit!

Nice suit but there is too much waist suppression for my taste. I'd also reduce the length of the shirt sleeves.

Agreed on both points, jacket is short but thats the style I guess they are going for and yes the back suppression is far too much when seen from the back.

Also the shirt sleeves are too long but the suit sleeves are too short..and I like to show a fair amount of cuff myself.

So take out the back a little and enjoy the jacket

I agree on the waist being suppressed too much...however if you intending on wearing the jacket undone then it looks just fine but if your gonna have it done up often I would have it taken out in the waist a little...lose the girlish bubble butt...lol

The vents are not sitting correctly either, they are kicking out, makes it look way too tight.

Keep it unbuttoned and you'll have no issues.
