Versatile dress watch - Page 7

I understand that for teenagers, school is all their life but why do you talk about school ? Please, impress me, tell me your are the one who is allowed to sit near the radiator because you know all about watches and have nothing to be disappointed with about watches and maneliness.

I have already stated my reasons, you just cannot seem to understand them, please go back and reread what I stated originally, if I must carry you by the hand regarding everything I post, then you must seriously reevaluate calling me stupid; perhaps a good long look in the mirror would help you.
So now try with relevant reasons ( i mean more relevant than = "IMO it has been designed for women ")

Dude, I said bull dykes. Who said anything about work??
Wake up kid. The bell is ringing. You told this = (at least I'm man enough to hold down a job and not mooch off the state) So it seems that beeing a man is connected with the fact to work.  So for you women can not hold down a job? And i expect a reply... Is it so complicated?

It doesn't change if she is French or not, but since you are too obtuse regarding examples that stray from your world of understanding, I was using an example common to us both
So why telling she is French? Common? Because now you are French too?

In conclusion: stop sucking the lifeblood out of France by being lazy and go do something positive with your life
Why? Give me some exemples positive things? And telling rubbish on a forum, does it count? I am sure you think it does.

But, you do nothing...you are proud of doing nothing? Being a rock with moss growing on it is something to be proud of?
Why should I be proud of anything? Yeaaah because i am a man and a man hold down a job and is proud of it. True men like you even lose their legs in a stupid war and are proud of it...all the more when their only fight is on a gamboy. Doing nothing?  Because working is the only thing to to in life? Well, i don't do nothing as i post on this forum. I have no complex or weak self esteem (as you obviously have). I don't need to work to feel confortable in society. I don't feel like a shit because i don't take a crowded subway all morning to stay in an office full of stupids like you for 8 hours. As long as stupids like you need to work to exist and are afraid of what people will thing about them, I will have paid holidays (I make more money on dole than many stupids working). Once the dole will end, I will work. So you can stop saying every 2 phrases that i don't work. We all know this. If you like so much working, i don't understand why you are so much bothered by the fact i do not... You are happy, good for you. Don't oblige people to have the same way to be happy. You seem to be bery narrow minded. Even tyranical. Keep your own business. You should have enough to do with your own life (at least if you were doing something of it). Imagine if you were not working. Nobody would talk to you kid. Your life would be over. You are right, work. Spend your time cleaning watches. You will be happy. And the most important = do not cross the line. Do everything as society tells you to do, you will have a house, a car and a TV. So you will be happy and proud of your pick up when you do to Walmart. So stop talking about work, stupid . Please learn to quote, this is not so complicated and REPLY (as you never replied to these questions, i mean more than "it has been designed for women" as an argument. ) Questions = 1) what does make a watch "manly" (as it is neither the size nor the thickness nor the details) ? Reply more than posting a pic of someone. Use words. 2) why is the Hampton not "manely"? (taking apart you think it has been designed for women, I mean what is not manely in the watch). Reply more than "in my opinion" as this is not an argument. 3) why is the Tank more manly? Because it is called TANK? Reply more than : " i am a man as I hold down a job." 4) why wouldn't you buy a quartz watch of more than $1000? Reply something intelligent.

Hi Ernest, I'm very glad that you are happy and don't have to deal with us "stupids" every day. Now, what do you think of the watches people have suggested here, regardless of whether they be manly or unmanly? If you had $3500 US to spend on a watch (and pretend you cannot get a discount), what would you buy if you wanted a Rectangular, tank, or tonneau style watch?
This is just a bit above your $3500 range (although with a steep discount): http://www.atlantictime.com/shopexd-id-16492.htm Jon.

Can some of you comment on leather straps? What is the typical durability of a strap from a good brand (Cartier, Ulysse Nardin, Girard Perregaux, B&M etc)? I've been put off by leather. Don't you ruin the leather by getting water on it when you wash your hands? A watch my dad loaned to me after a year had its strap deteriorate by me getting water on it from washing my hands.

Whilst not getting a leather strap wet is a universal rule, the thickness in conjunction with the watches usage will determine its lifespan. As well, the look you are trying to convey will also be determined by the thickness of the strap. A thicker strap is better for a watch that is worn everyday, whereas a thinner strap will probably last less; this is also dependent of the weather where you live and how much you sweat. But, at the same time a thinner strap is more elegant than a thicker one. Material can also determine longevity. Certain exotic hides will not last as long as something more common, such as calf. Jon.

One brand worth mentioning that hasn't shown up yet in this thread... Dubey & Schaldenbrand. Reworked and refinished ETA movements (mostly the 2892-A2), in nice, art deco style Tonneau cases. The Aerodyn fits your description perfectly. I actually like D&S a whole lot more than the Cartier Roadster--especially if you decide to go the pre-owned route.

Like the Aerodyn Elegance: Jon.
