ANyone ever hear of a "Nicolosi" Suitmaker/Tailor?

Was shopping in NYC today and there was an elderly gentlemen in front of me at Starbucks with a real sharp suit on. When he turned around I told him how sharp he looked and he replied "Thank You, this is a Bespoke Nicolosi" and chuckled... Never heard of the name before? Anyone???

Sure, he's famous. Tom Wolfe's tailor, among others. Makes garments with more handwork than any other tailor in the city. At least as a matter of course. Others will sew entire suits by hand on request. Nicolosi does it without being asked.

WOW... Pretty impressive, any idea how much they cost?

Nicolosi's prices don't seem to have a lot of consistency.  I'd expect to hear $3,500 as a base and consider myself lucky if he said something less. Here's his website, BTW: http://www.vincentnicolosi.com/

From the website: "A true artist cannot mistake a real profession from a pseudo-profession" I hope he hasn't seen his website. B

Agreed. Although I love the animated gifs...

His English is not the best. I assume that was translated from the Italian.

Agree with Manton -- Nicolosi does wonderful work -- suits are quite soft compared to most NY tailors
