Was he starting a new enterprise with the legit businesses and he just wanted a fight?

I read the scene this way: they were suggesting that like Avon, Omar, or Stringer, Marlo may not be able to leave the game behind. So of your options, I'd go with 'just wanted a fight.'

This kid in my HS class is very similar to Snoop. Never saw her after Nov of my senior year, who knows what she's up to.

What do you mean the gangs are organized differently? How are they normally organized?

In the Northeast most drug dealers are freelance and have no hierarchy, you may have small crews but nothing that has an arm dedicated to hits. Even gangs aren't really "gangs" in the way they are in L.A or Chicago. Baltimore seems to have drug crews that operate in a large and somewhat organized scale.

It would also help if you'd catch up on a show that has been finished for a year or so

You know you wish you still had 3 more seasons and change.

Marlo wants nothing more than to excell at the game. He only wants to obtain the "crown," which would signify his reign over the drug trade. He is not concerned with the profits of the drug trade, like Stringer Bell; he has little idea how money is laundered and must be "civilized" by Prop Joe who arranges his account in the Caymans.

The fundraiser was simply a way for him to make connections, which would help him become a developer. Of course, a fundraiser attended by old, wealthy, and stuffy white men is severely removed from the game and, therefore, Marlo's aspirations.

When he left the fundraiser in favor of the corner, he was simply returning back to his home-the streets of Bodymore. The two corner boys whom he confronts do not even know who he is: the most prominent player in the game. He is cut in the scuffle and only laughs, for he realizes that his dreams have not yet been obtained as he previously thought.
