I don't think they are really bizarre but I like

Tongue
tripe
sweet breads
Brain

I want to drink cobra blood in thailand.

When it comes to food I am game for just about anything! I ate different bugs they were ok.
anyone else????

Not my cup of tea, but sweetbreads are okay.

I love tongue and sweetbreads. Never had tripe. Brain is good, but I've only had like a brain terrine, so I haven't had just straight up brain.

Foie gras, if you think about it, is pretty bizarre. Taking a goose and force feeding it until it is on the verge of cirrhosis, then harvesting the bloated liver and eating it. But it's fucking amazing, so you can't knock it.

I love some sweet breads. I am on an ever searching quest for the perfectly cooked sweetbreads.

Kwilkinson- you are correct.

What we consider bizarre foods are not necessarily bizarre in European cultures. They do eat everything. I'll follow Mauro's lead in Tongue Lengua Estofadois very good and very Spanish. I've had the best tripes in Paris and also had tripes at Dim Sum in Chinatown. I've had Argentine Blood Sausage at one of their Parillas . Probably the most bizarre would be balut, which is duck's egg that has an embryo in it. I had it in Southeast Asia.

Balut is something I could never eat. Just the thought, let alone the pictures, really gross me out. I know GoSurface has eaten it and some other guys I know have, and they say it's good..... but just no.

Judging from your username, you are indeed of a culture with food that outsiders would consider bizarre. My favorite bar food by far is minced pig face fried with onions and peppers. Lengua is par for the course at various Filipino functions. Duck fetus is readily available on the streets of Manila. When I'm out in the provinces of the Philippines, either for family trips or other road trips, I try to get stuff like monitor lizard and various wild animal. I've not had dog yet, although I'm told it's a delicacy in some rural towns.

Lengua and Tripe are actually two foods I eat weekly. I like trying new foods so I'll try just about anything once. So, I'm not exactly sure what can be classified as bizarre. I saw stinky tofu and jellyfish salad on Andrew Zimmern's show and have had them both so I'll go with that.

I've done this in Taiwan. It's not quite the thrill you would expect, but they do try to make it seem dangerous by giving you three shots...venom, antidote, vodka

Eating dog meat would be my taboo. I would play Russian roulette and eat fugu before I eat dog meat. I'd be careful at some grilled or bbq food stalls in Manila or the Northern Provinces, you may never know that it's canine meat you are eating. AS far as Balut is concerned, they come in two varieties. One is pre-embryo and the other is almost full embryo which would have the feathers.

....and if you do try it, I suggest eating it with a little rock salt and San Miguel beer, of course!

ahaha, well I grew up in Manila and I have had my fair share of suspicious street food, so who knows if I've had some canine carvings already?

My aunt used to tell me though that dogs can smell a dog eater from a mile away, and are just terribly hostile to one on sight. Her driver allegedly ate dog which is why he just drove dogs nuts, be they her dogs or anyone else's. Dogs are still pretty friendly to me so I think I'm in the clear
