I've got this one pair of jeans with a mostly nice cut, nice wash, nice fit, but I rarely wear them because they have this huge bulge in the crotch (har har). I guess you might call it tenting, but it's all the time, not just while sitting down. Could somewhere like Denim Doctors fix this? I don't really even know what the problem is.

Not that I'm suggesting that you wear them this way, but does the problem go away if you pull the waist up higher? It sounds like the crotch depth is too low, which is very difficult to fix.

Maybe if I pull them up way higher. The bulge seems to be shaped into the stiffness of the denim -- the crotch actually has to be stretched for them to lay more flatly.

Out of curiousity, what brand/model/wash of jeans are these?  This could be a manufacturing problem, or just be a poorly designed pair of jeans.  But the boys in Spinal Tap showed that the bulge is nothing to be afraid of...

Try ironing the bulge.

NOTE: Do not attempt this unless you have first removed the garment.

Try saftey pinning them in at the side seams around the same height as where the crotch is too big. If it's just a problem of the hips being cut too big, that can be fixed.

Well I think there's too much fabric vertically, not horizontally. I may give ironing them a go, but I'm not getting my hopes up. They are Hilfiger (not Tommy Jeans) from a few years ago. Not exactly high quality I know, but I liked them when I bought them, mainly for the unusual wash. It's sort of a dark streaky one, but not at all overdone.

We At the Denim Doctors do nips and tucks to jeans all the time. If you have a similar jeans that fits well in the crotch please send it along with the one requiring adjustment.
