My dog loves the snow and we got our first about a month ago. He begs to go through it whenever he notices it and this is right before he got taken off the leash. ATLjon, is yours the same (not sure how much snow you guys get)?

Also, I had to pick up a new muzzle and this one fit the best. The one I liked the most and was really well made (also leather) was discontinued and only had smaller sizes. Thoughts from anyone?

Its ridiculous how differently people treat fritz and albert based solely on their ears, I do like the docked tail though, pinschers have thin ugly tails, and its so cute when it little nub shakes.

Very little. The amount in that picture would be making people freak out.

Otto loves the snow, but living in Atlanta — and not being able to take him to Idaho for our Christmas vacation — he doesn't see much. Two years ago, it snowed pretty heavily (for here), and he had a great time frolicking through the snow.

I've always been surprised by how much my dog likes snow, given how short her coat is. The cold doesn't seem to bother her.

Albert loves the cold weather and esp snow. He will stay out until the snowballs in his fur get too big for him to run any further. During the winter, I can always tell where a draft is in the house, as he is prob laying right there in it.

During the summer, he will head straight for the shade. No stops no playing. Shade and a bowl of ice for him.

Our dog has to be forced outside to do her business when it cold and snowy but willingly heads out for walks :)

Can anyone tell me what kind of dog this is? My girlfriend and I just found it wandering at a major intersection and prevented her from an early trip to doggie heaven.

Looks like a pomeranian but I don't know anything about dogs.
You got an arctic fox right there buddy, are you in Canada by any chance?

My Pal "Joe The Plumber" 's 2 year old English Setter "Nello". He won him at some auction.

It was a beautiful day. It's not over yet, but I'm glad armageddon hasn't ruined it thus far.

Great pictures! Of the King of the Uplands of which each and every one is a trophy. And of course Nello too

It has been many years since I had an ES and I do miss the beauty of a point. Muddy paws usually means a happy dog IME. Snow is a bit too deep here now for the Toller, there is something to be said for a long legged dog. But with single digits and below zero F every day now am loosing the drive to be in the field.

The Nova Scotia Duck Toller loves snow and will lay in the last pile along side the driveway until it melts in the spring. Here is a picture from a couple of years ago in the front yard. Deer season was open and if those does bedded in the background were bucks with a rack of 140 or better would grabbed something other than the camera. The dog doesn't care think he is saying just throw me the damn ball.

Picked up our new dog on Christmas morning. She's really sweet and has been very easy -- even though she's apparently not house trained, she hasn't had an accident yet, and is perfectly willing to pee outside (and even quickly when it was raining at 5 AM this morning). She also gets nausea in the car, but she lasted a 50 minute car ride in my lap without throwing up, so I don't really think it's going to pose a problem.

When we picked her up she was filthy, and after blowing her anal gland yesterday (I think she was nervous), I decided to bring her to PetCo today for a cleaning, and now she smells like vanilla and is shiny. She weighs about 22 lbs, but is definitely overweight -- I think she could lose 5 lbs easily and would look svelte.

My only concern is that during the time around her my eyes have gotten irritated. I'm very allergic to cats, but never had a reaction to dog, and she lived in a home with a lot of cats, so I hope that it was just residual cat dander that was causing that. Nothing too severe, but I don't really want to be taking allergy pills every day forever!

It's been nice having a dog again, but I didn't expect how much having her around would cause me to miss our old beagle.

That's a fun looking dog.

My own dog "Daisy" doesn't have the hunting instincts. She gets her sense of purpose being a guard dog.

We still have lots of good years together ahead of us, but my next dog might be a Spring Spaniel. Would also like to have a pair of pure-bred German Shepherds one day.

bought so many dog things this week. two leashes, like ten toys, a pink crate (because she's a girl), some vitamins for her coat, and a harness.
