The mascot of my alma mater! Thanks Lefty; I've read about Stubby before, but this is the most detailed article I've come across. As mentioned, the mascot is now an English bulldog. Probably fitting - the football team isn't what it was back then, either.

got the tick parasite/infection test back, and it's negative. so now we're all stumped. going in for an ultrasound on friday.

no, but this hasn't been that expensive so far. we wanted to, but we knew too little about her and she was too old to get really any good coverage. the initial blood work has been about $300, and the ultrasound will be $200ish. she seems lethargic today; hopefully just a bad day and not signs of a continued decline.

Hope so.

 

Here's an intense GSD.  You see a lot of bitework with dancing decoys and hectic dogs chewing on a sleeve. Not this guy.

I didn't mean to make light of a family losing their pet. I'm sure they can sue for negligence but I believe damages would be limited to the cost of the rabbit.

thanks. I'm not looking forward to the ultrasound -- i'm afraid it's going to show that she's full of cancer and there's nothing we can do. she's been really upbeat and active today, but her appetite hasn't been great.

I know Lefty. The dog was doing what it was supposed to do. I have no fault with the dog. It just makes you wonder what the hell people are thinking in these situations. If they allow this to happen, what the hell else goes on in the place to the other animals that are housed.

I just meant that normally i would be like it is a rabbit, dog did what a dogs gonna do, and move on as well. Mine has been so interactive with everyone, including the dog, that I cringe thinking about the situation.

here's Buster my irrationally confident 6mth old Boston Terrier doing what he loves best.... play fighting with larger dogs:

This one is with an Alaskan Malamute (1.5yrs old, 120lbs, superduper beautiful and well trained). That dog was so nice.

My freaking dog is only 17lbs...
