does anyone watch law and order? - Page 2

How about last week's episode when he and Imperioli are walking around the stables at the horse racing track and he says, "This is gonna be hell on the Belgian loafers." that was great.
I almost shat myself with the Belgian Loafer reference. Dick Wolf, the creator of the show, is a sharp dresser as well. I knew I was gonna like him, when he came in in a minklined bomber that I could never pull off and a pair of chunky gator brogues.

gator brogues? he must be a gangsta. Belgian loafers are a pretty delicate shoe for a pavement-pounding NYPD detective, though, don't you think?

They were cool, I guess you had to see em. Extensive Belgian wearing gave me planar faciatis and that was just pounding on a trading floor. They don't have a great deal of support.

Apparently he is just independently wealthy. They've referred a few times to him driving some sweet car that I forget off the top of my head -- he isn't just a good bargain shopper.

Something like the Will Smith character in Bad Boys 1&2? Unfortunately im not familiar with Law & Order. Sounds like a good show.

Man, you can't get away from it in this country. There are something like four different versions currently in production, plus a gazillion old episodes in syndication. I read somewhere that it is the most profitable TV franchise in US history.

I don't watch all that much TV. So it could be on and I just missed it. I just really hate all those commercials on TV. Don't have the patience for them.

Hmm . . . makes you wonder if it is a coincidence that the partner of Farina's character is named Ed Green.

I'm glad to hear that. It deserves to be. Popular tv done well. Much better than the typical fare of CSI, American Idol or Reba.

Remember that it's been around for a long time. I think the first show actually premiered in the 80s.

they've shown his car, it's a silver MB not sure of the model, but it looked like an 04 SLK or something like that, a 2-seater sportscar

Oh, I know. I've watched it consistently for the last decade, and caught the ones I missed in syndication. There was a time when it was on A&E (this was 8 or 9 years ago) that I sometimes would watch it three times a day...

There was a comment on the show about his ride as well, don't remember exactly what. Now, if we get to see his apartment, and it is not an actual closet, I can see an IAB subplot in future episodes.

How much do detectives make? Any clue?

Depends on their grade, but the base salary is not so high. Nonetheless, they can make quite a lot, thanks to the magic of "overtime."
