How to safely pack ties for travel??

Roll them. Maybe inside your shoe.

there's no real secret. Roll them or lay them flat, I have never had wrinkles from laying flat. If you are really concerned you can get tie cases pretty cheaply. They hold several ties together in a folio.

I'm not following. Do you wrap them around the shoe trees or what? I mean, you are using shoe trees when you travel, right? Right?

I roll my ties tightly, then tuck them in the suitcase corners or use them to fill gaps between other items.

roll tightly like you would a cigarette, then put a rubber band around it to prevent unravelling.

I usually fold the tie in half, then roll from the fold. I put the rolled tie or ties in a ziplock bag and put it in wherever i have room. If you leave a little air in the bag when you seal it, you have very little risk of creasing, etc.

i dont pack things like a sausage casing, and usually i just lay them in my robe or something that prevents them from rubbing against other things.

I roll them, then place them in an interior corner pocket section in my garment bag. I also pack socks/T-shirts in there as well so there is no room for them to move around and become unraveled.

My suitcase actuall has 2 rectagular zip pouches on each side to hold 2 nicely folded ties in each pouch. Funny thing is i never even noticed these pouches the 1st year I had the luggage! They keep my ties neat and protected.

Hermes tie boxes--you can fit at least two ties in those. Tiecrafters ships ties all over the country in a tie box similar to a Hermes tie box. The best method is to roll the tie and put it in a appropriate size container. (Not sure if I would recommend rubber band idea posted above--a tight rubber band may make indentations in the silk or mash the lining after a while.) Charles Alexander included some little wooden boxes with his first batch of ties. A rolled tie fits perfectly in one of those.
