I Love You Man <3

Thread Starter
I saw a sneak screening of I Love You Man last night with the girlfriend and another couple. It was free, we brought some booze and snacks and had absolutely no expectations. What followed was a big mix of hilarity, awkward situations (an abundance of uncomfortable moments), groovy soundtrack, and a LOT of J. Crew.

*Warning* Paul Rudd wore the same belt for pretty much the entire movie and it kind of pissed me off. He also wore a certain tuxedo to his wedding that might catch a lot of flak on these fora.

I have to say that the movie was pretty funny, had some great dialogue and one liners, some over the top gross out humour that could have been cut out (although had some follow ups that were funny) and a lot of bromance...

Jason Segel takes the cake in this one, he's both funny, odd, truthful, and endearing. Paul Rudd does a great job as well, slapping the bass! There are some really funny improved scenes and lines as well. Jon Favreau manages to be a huge biggest asshole yet remains funny and oddly enough...likeable. Rasheeda was pretty much just doing her thing...and Jaime Pressly got a lot of screen time as well. It was nice seeing her in a non white trash role a la My Name is Earl.

Like most comedies it started off with a bang, slowed down near the middle, and then picked a tad at the end. It's not a masterpiece, it's nothing really special, but it's fun to spend a night with a friend or SO as this one works for both men and women alike.

Sorry for the corny movie critic like review.

Saw a free screening last night as well, definitely enjoyable and yes, Segel steals the show.

It has received good reviews; it gives new meaning to the word bromance. I'll probably see it this week. Thanks for your movie insights.

Saw it this weekend. Some of the "Paul Rudd is awkward" jokes got a little repetitive, but it was entertaining and funny. I still don't understand why it got an R rating. No nudity, no violence. ????

I enjoyed it. There were a few moments where the awkwardness actually made me squirm. It was good in the same way that the best episodes of "The Office" are good. So awkward it's actually difficult to watch. I thought the Jamie Pressly/Jon Favreau couple was hilarious.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it. I would call it a bromantic comedy.

Saw it Sat night and I enjoyed it, worth the price of admission for a "date night" but honestly, I was hoping for better. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was much better.

Perhaps that half of the jokes involve oral sex?

The "he's a giver...return the favor" speech was pretty funny.

I loved when John Favreaux said "I don't think she gives him any blow jobs"

Enjoyed it.

Not sure of the premise going in but they made it work. Enjoyable movie. The cameos were certainly abundant. I think every major comedy troupe in North America had some alumni represented.

That "giver/favor" speech was a great idea but it could have been MUCH funnier. Just imagine if that moment would have happened in, say, "Knocked Up" IMHO they wussed out on it, or maybe the raunchy pieces were edited out for an extended DVD.

good movie. I enjoyed it. Knew nothing about it going in and had a good time. Also, paul rudd wore the same purple/white check gingham shirt i have. I thought it was gay that i noticed. Oh well

I absolutely loved the movie, so did my girlfriend. We were laughing almost the entire time.

Add another couple who went without really any expectations and left raving about it.
