$200 shoes in NYC

I've got a friend who's looking for a good pair of traditional -- Allen Edmonds, etc. -- shoes. He's only in town for another month or so, which means that shopping the sales would be hard. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you in advance for your help.

They sell shoes? I had no idea. Thanks Mack.

De nada. A few years ago, the shoe dept moved out of the basement to an adjacent storefront. Entrance is on the big C21's downtown side, one or two doors to the east.

If your pal could make it out to Riverhead in eastern Long Island, there's an Allen-Edmonds outlet, where he could surely find some excellent bargains for well under $200 among the closeouts.

Or take the bus or a car to Woodbury Commons where he would find any number of decent shoes at that price.

Sit him down in front of your computer and go to Sierra Trading Post. They have some new AEs in stock.

The DSW in Union Square sells Allen-Edmonds fairly regularly.
